i like it a LOT, but i think i'm going to grab another Metron for that case and put some more modulation and stuff in the DFAM's place, put DRumFemahrMfhrFgrH back in it's case.
Nice. Yeah, DhramaFramaNamaNomma belongs in its own bespoke case.
How are you enjoying the Dinky's? I think I heard one of its waves in that clip.
behndy wrote:yep! it's in there. i liiiiiiike it. will probably grab a Akemie's again, but they're different enough to have next to each other?
edit - lol. annnnnnd looks like i have a black Metron on the way. WOOT.
Akemie's and Dinky's have nothing to do with one another except ALM called them both "Taiko" for some reason. Akemie's is less a drum module than an FM voice whereas Dinky's is certainly a drum module and makes my favorite eurorack kick drums (so far). To conclude, yes to both!
Yeah they’re a minor bitch, I could get one from Analogue Haven but I’m trying to wait for a sale to pop up or maybe score a second hand one. I did pick up a Ataraxic Iteritas second hand yesterday just because it was priced low. It might be funny but as expensive as eurorack is, I’m still always looking to save $20 here or there. I think I overcome my impulse control against blowing $300 by focusing on the saving $20 part, haha.
lol. right? THEY SHOULD DO ANOTHER RUN. I WOULD LIKE THEM TO DO ANOTHER RUN.
Barny - lol. see? i'm the opposite. since you can use a 10% of on most any site all the time for new shizz, i justify my purchases by Oh It's Usually Four Hundy But It's Forty Buckaroos Less GIMME.
hurm. although. i would WAY rather pay buy direct from a modular company. like i think it ended up about eighty or a hundy to buy that Metron from WMD direct compared to waiting till they were in at DetMod, but...
01) get it shipped wayyyyyy quicker
02) the profit margin for WMD has to SIGNIFICANTLY better?

I meant I use savings to justify spending, I’m the same as you. In fact it gets worse because then I look at that $40 savings as free money that came from the sky and I blow it on lunch. But yeah on that note I can usually figure out some code that works at Perfect Circuit or Detroit Modular. However, the dealers for Mannequins modules: ctrl-mod, Control Voltage, Analogue Haven, afaik unless they are running an advertised sale you are boned. I’ve even politely begged via email for discounts with ctrl-mod and Control Voltage in times past and been politely turned down and told to wait for a sale. But that’s ok,
Speaking of Mannequins, I'm thinking of picking up a JUST FRIENDS because it doesn't make any goddamn sense what the fuckin' thing is supposed to be / do.
oh man. it's a tossup between 3 Sisters and Just Friends for which i adore more. JF is amazebutts as an odd linked LFO thing. but i loooooove her as an osc. so sexy. kinda want a second JF again.
really dig the DFAM, but so freaking big. back in it's case, set up that drum synthesis case as this last night -
it's FUN.

I think I'm going to hit the Just Friends because haven't bought a new module in a while and could stand to shake shit up. Except I just purchased a new module right now called Rung Divisions which is the guts of a Benjolin without the oscs or filter. Roll your own benjo, meng - stoked.
Aaaaaaaand missed my chance to nab the Just Friends deal. I am... patient.
I have less and less time in the PC/instruments room these days (kids are cute little time-eaters) and I've found out that I would actually not mind having a smaller system than my 7u/84HP. I could live with a small Teletype + feedback based system...
Anyway, in case you're not all aware : there are some excellent documentations being made for the Mannequins modules.
Mangrove, Just Friends and Cold Mac already out. Really, really good technical writing, clear and full of inspiration. And pretty images.
