^^^Nice. That's a lot of sequencers. Where's the drums?! Assimil8or?
Got to play Just Friends last night. I do not get it yet, like, AT ALL. I got some drone boys out of it and some interesting click patterns but without understanding. I do not get it...
Got to play Intellijel Shifty. That makes sense and rules.
Got to play Rung Divisions. I fed it regular signals and got pretty regular signals out. Some fun grooves came out of it, though. Thread on muffs suggests a few different use cases which I'll try tonight.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
you rock a 3 Sissies right? one of my favorite things is JF in audio mode, find a chord/interval you like, send the lowest to the low on 3Sis, 2 up from that on the medium, 2 or 3 up from that on the high, modulate sweeping the 3 Sissah, enjoyyyyyy.mr. sound boy king wrote:^^^Nice. STILL CURIOUS ABOUT RUNGY.
Shifty is weird. i REALLY like it, then i feel like it's too much trouble and shizz gets too messy patched to integrate it some times.
yahp! SO MANY SEQUENCERS. FLXS for good time deep structured parts to parts approach, Generator for interactive flippy knobby fuck around chunks, Metron for DROOMS.
and yerrrrr. just want to do sampled drum hits with this rack. i love drum synthesis, i have that 6u full of chunky times loot, i wanted this to be as accessible as possible for quick ideas/playing out.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
No, I ain't got no 3 Sis as of yet. My filter game is rather weak at the moment, Intellijel uVCF and 2hp LPF only. I like your idea of sweeping a bunch of JF oscs, though. I need to spend more time with the thing before passing any judgments.
Yah, with Shifty fully patched it was VERY DENSELY CROWDED in that area but the fun groove times which ensued made it worthwhile for yesterday's jam.
I never looked into Assimil8or but it looks like a phat piece to fire off the sample-boys.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
woot! 2hp Sine and Blavk Metron shipppped. Generator shipped (fuckers did UPS Walking apparently. went out Monday, should be here next Monday. jebus), MDLR 12u and ADDAC207 go out tomorrow.
loot loot loot loot loot.
super curious about the Sine. his stuff always sounds good. and yeah, 2hp osc modules are kinda a bitch to tune, but once they're in there, they stay solid. i like the idea of the out that's either an octave below or a fifth above.
and. you know. WAVEFOLDING.

This is a pretty in depth / long read, bit has everything you'd want to know about Just Friends inside (more detailed than the manual):mr. sound boy king wrote:

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
So I received a few Intellijel 1Us today and holy shit did they ever improve my workflow!
I specifically bought the USB power so I could plug my 16n in directly rather than have it taking up more room in a power bar. It's such a small, simple thing, but it makes me really happy.
I also bought the Pedal I/O module to interface with the Chase Bliss Mood and that is so essential!
Right now I've got a simple patch going with Marbles sending v/Oct to Just Friends, Cold Mac making a chord with the outputs from Just Friends, output of Cold Mac into the Mood, return audio into Three Sisters which is being feedback into itself and is being controlled by Planar 2, and the high and low outputs of Three Sisters out through the H9 for some Black hole reverb. Pure ambience!

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
sounds DELIGHTFUL.
i just.... don't like pedals any more. so little control. having CV on all the things has SPOILED me.
moof. they delivered my case today. took like..... 3 business days from the Netherlands? MDLR ROCKS. annnnnd i'm out of town till tomorrow night.
ugh. and the IDIOTS left it alone in the laundromat next door to my business. fucking morons. oh a big as box shipped from overseas? yeah no let's leave it in the middle of a FUCKING HIGH TRAFFIC AREA. fuck shits.
luckily i'm buds with the owners, they saw it and stashed it for me.
fucking absolute walnuts some delivery people.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Delivery people can be the absolute worst. I've had a few packages waiting on my front porch that were literally marked "do not safe drop".
Here's a quick clip of the patch I mentioned above minus the modulation from the Planar:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BzrA1PAhmEi/
For awhile I was all in on the modular train, but I have come around to appreciate the "simplicity" of pedals. I mean I would definitely not call Mood a simple pedal, but I guess it doesn't have a ton of CV opportunities. I just find that working within limits is much more rewarding to me. The infinite opportunities of modular is too much sometimes. Sometimes, I just was a simple subtractive synth and a delay pedal. Or a micro-looper/delay

That's a very in-depth document and I appreciate its existence.
Had some time last night to screw around with Just Friends again and have begun to understand its wily ways. Super interesting module and I can see why ambient hobos get on with it so well. Little cascading anythings. I had it sequencing drums for a bit and then, in another patch, doing some gnarly bass-lines.
Also beginning to understand Rung Divisions which can work like a regular ol' shift register sequencing thing but it really shines when you start feeding it audio rate stuff, feedback loop stuff, etc. Noisome! Relatedly, I have a format jumble box in the mail so I can do banana -> euro stuff. I'm especially excited to interface the Macumbista Butterfly Benjolin but also all my other banana stuff, too, which is underutilized since I began buying / playing eurorack.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
thaaaaat is a solid read. good stuff. love that they put out less OH THE HIPPIE MAGIIIIIIC deets on their loots.
spent like 5 hours the other day building 2 cases, then about 6 hours yesterday cleaning up and rearranging studio space. it's so much better now. have the two outboard effects i missed set up and usable now (Sherman Filterbank and the Koma BD101), with room for the Zoia i just ordered, the DFAM in front of the drum synthesis case. seems SOLID so far.
annnnnd got to actually jam for about an hour. the AS Generator is amazebutts. and the ADDAC207 is ridiculously fun. especially with the NoiseEng Lapsus Os in between them.
