If anyone is still unconvinced Faldoe is just not worth arguing with, he also routinely posts climate change denial rhetoric on this forum.
this is the kind of idiot he is
video 2 on this post
seriously, look into the channel its called "comedy unleashed" its just a simple list off of altright memes under the guise of a standup set.
some reasonable people might still be thinking to themselves wrote: ok well whatever, people have different political views. why should I care? I support free speech.
Its different, these people are so so dumb that its just not legitimate politics, even the republicans consider these people idiots , politicians just say whatever their donors pay them to say, these Faldoe types are the kind of dumbasses who actually struggle to understand climate science, the kind of dumbass who would bother for pages in this thread arguing for a clearly empty stance like "all lives matter".

I think I'm like most people on this forum, you probably didn't come here to argue with politics, you came here to post and read about fuzz pedals and music recs, some benign off topic stuff, but the more we tolerate blatant ignorance, the more of these idiots will start showing up. If it gets even a little worse this will be the first pedal forum specifically for alt righters, redpills, incels, proud-boys, 4chan/pol, you will be begging to go back to a time when there was only 1 annoying long stupid mega thread.

I only had to go back to page 21 of this thread to find this post by Faldoe:
Faldoe wrote:The Presidency is like the tip of an iceberg. There is a lot of momentum that will push a president in the direction that momentum is going.

Bernie would good for a number of reasons:

1) He is elected and his election demonstrates that a majority of US citizens disagree with the political status quo - a dem and repub venture.

2) He tries to implement the kind of policies he is advocating - money out of politics, dealing with wall st. and economic inequalities and most important: The environment.

In implementing stricter environmental laws, all the already crazy corporations and politicians that denounce the reality of climate change will rally against him and his administration. This brings to the public's eye, even more so than now, what we are up against/what this country is made of in terms of power.

3) His election is fruitless and he is co-opted/ his campaign was all rhetoric like Obama's "change and hope" and things stay the same. Obama has taking some stances on some things but his allegiances are still in the already-shifted-right political arena.
Say what, chromandre? He is a climate change denier? I don't even think those Comedy Unleashed performances are funny, but it's still comedy, and yeah I do support free speech if you were hinting at me with that made up and honestly pretty condescending quote.

I think you're reading too much into this, I didn't see any mention of "all lives matter" or those weirdo groupings until you brought it up. Uncalled for.

1.) Thanks for being measured, Frodog.

Yeah, I don't think I've posted anything saying I'm against climate change. I think the comic I linked to is hilarious, it doesn't mean I agree with everything he says.

2.) Those videos I posted are hilarious. I support Trans people, their right to exist but that doesn't mean I have to support and agree with everything they say. They are people, after all -RIGHT? - therefore not perfect and therefor may not always be right. It is a mistake and actually dehumanizing to not treat them as everyone else: not perfect and therefore able to make mistakes.

Also, I realize the trans video is posted by Andy Ngo and people surely have their opinions about him - that he has palled around with the Alt-Right. If that is the case, it is obviously questionable but if it IS the case, does that change
the legitimacy of the video linked? I think the video speaks for itself in that those people were absurd. Not absurd cause they were trans. It was like something from South Park.

3.) I did post not anything saying "All lives matter," though even if I HAD: so what? All lives do matter. Yes, I get the distinction and the arguments people make that framing it as such can take away from BLM as a focus in and of itself. I'm not trying to do that but I bring up the ALM example as it seems a poor measure/means to basically assess someone's character.

What I was saying about BLM is not that I don't agree with the motivation and need to protest/raise awareness of black people unfairly treated or unjustifiably killed at the hands of police but rather the approach by many (not all) within the BLM - or at least those that make the news/social media - often demonize all cops. And also are incredibly antagonist against black cops which I think is unfair. They (the protestors/activists) perpetuate this dichotomy of if you're black and a cop you're bad, a race traitor. Look at videos of activists calling black cops all kinds of stuff - really bad stuff.

Now, does this make me PRO COP - i.e. I always take the cop's side? - NO. I can engage in nuance. There are bad cops, people that shouldn't be cops but that doesn't mean all are bad or that we should just get rid of law enforcement, or get rid of prisons. Again, it's throwing the baby out with the bathwater, which to me, is one of the big problems and signs of the time.

I think it's driven by media (mainstream and social), general anxieties people have: economic, environmental. I think people on various levels intuit the destruction human civilization is (has) unleashed on our earth and now we have a system that is threating us all, and that frustration and anxiety manifest in different ways.

We're part chimp (great band, btw). Tribalism is in our DNA and that is an uphill struggle for us. Another, I'd argue, hurtle we must surmount, if we can. Can we not revert to tribes?

I'm generally on the side of most things "Liberal" but I'm not a blind follower and won't just agree with what everyone else does cause its the thing to do.

Faldoe, now that you've elaborated on your worldview I am inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt. It's not worth my time to debate someone who thinks the GOP is not a racist institution, but if that's not what you're saying then I stand corrected.

Our Government is fucking clown shoes guys. If you believe any of those lying snake assholes, I’m sorry. I don’t trust any of them. What happened last night only serves to harden my political stance and push me even deeper into being Libertarian. I’m disgusted with our entire government right now for how much money and time they have wasted on such ridiculous bullshit and I’m not just taking about the impeachment proceedings. I’m speaking as a whole of their systematic dismantling of our liberties, our freedoms, our voices. This country needs an exorcism or something. So disgusted.

Thanks, John.

I should have been more clear in that original post where I was asking the other forum member for examples of the GOP being racist. In the current climate, accusations of something being racist are often quickly deployed and I was wondering if it might just have been the poster's quick draw to say that. As I mentioned with the issue or border security, often advocating for that is seen - in and of itself - as indicative of racism which I don't think is a fair accusation to make. There are people that are racist that don't want people from other countries in this country and to them border security is a means to achieve that but it doesn't mean anyone that wants a secure border believes that.

I do think the GOP has been racist and clearly they are the party (in our two party system) where actual racists will go to vote people in they think will represent their views and agenda. I did mention Steve King as he has openly said things that are indeed racist. This doesn't mean all republicans are racist, however, nor that there aren't racists in the democratic party either.

I've never been more disenchanted with the current political/social climate.

Crossposting from FB where an otherwise intelligent, well-meaning dude is in deep denial that mainstream news institutions are biased against Bernie Sanders:

"People seem to trot out "the burden of proof is on you" like it's a magic spell when they're confronted by something they're uncomfortable with. The reality is that we all have a threshold of comfort, and when it's crossed we'll do anything to maintain our position. It's bullshit because I wouldn't tell a rape victim "well the burden of proof is on you" and force them to stay with their abuser until they give me enough evidence. People have no problem understanding this when it's about someone they already hate (do any liberals doubt that Trump is a rapist?), but when you tell them that they've been lied to by someone they trust (CNN, NYT), forget about it. "You're lying, you're crazy, you're mean," etc. Nah man, I just made you uncomfortable. It's not my job to prove that an alligator is coming to eat your ostrich ass, but if you don't take your head out of that hole in the sand then you're gonna find out the hard way."

Almost 13 months. Next inauguration is January 2021.

Beyond the concern about enough prion disease spread giving him a second term, there is the frighteningly real possibility that Shitshow would dismiss a loss as fraud and try to hold onto power. The one great tradition of the presidency is the peaceful transition of power, and most talk of Washington walking away after two terms. Adams walking away after a bitter loss after one term is more important, really. Shitshow is likely to stress test the fuck out of this norm.

Castro and Harris are out but Bloomberg and Steyer are still in. If a billionaire is the Democratic nominee, better than Shitshow but still a strong indicator of a failed state.

My Facebook's full of people freaking out that we're gonna go to war with Iran, which I fucking doubt. But, admittedly unsurprising start to 2020. :idk:
