John is right
If anyone is still unconvinced Faldoe is just not worth arguing with, he also routinely posts climate change denial rhetoric on this forum.
this is the kind of idiot he is
video 2 on this post
seriously, look into the channel its called "comedy unleashed" its just a simple list off of altright memes under the guise of a standup set.
some reasonable people might still be thinking to themselves wrote: ok well whatever, people have different political views. why should I care? I support free speech.
Its different, these people are so so dumb that its just not legitimate politics, even the republicans consider these people idiots , politicians just say whatever their donors pay them to say, these Faldoe types are the kind of dumbasses who actually struggle to understand climate science, the kind of dumbass who would
bother for pages in this thread arguing for a clearly empty stance like "all lives matter".
I think I'm like most people on this forum, you probably didn't come here to argue with politics, you came here to post and read about fuzz pedals and music recs, some benign off topic stuff, but the more we tolerate blatant ignorance, the more of these idiots will start showing up. If it gets even a little worse this will be the first pedal forum specifically for alt righters, redpills, incels, proud-boys, 4chan/pol, you will be
begging to go back to a time when there was only 1 annoying long stupid mega thread.
1.) Thanks for being measured, Frodog.
Yeah, I don't think I've posted anything saying I'm against climate change. I think the comic I linked to is hilarious, it doesn't mean I agree with everything he says.
2.) Those videos I posted are hilarious. I support Trans people, their right to exist but that doesn't mean I have to support and agree with everything they say. They are people, after all -RIGHT? - therefore not perfect and therefor may not always be right. It is a mistake and actually dehumanizing to not treat them as everyone else: not perfect and therefore able to make mistakes.
Also, I realize the trans video is posted by Andy Ngo and people surely have their opinions about him - that he has palled around with the Alt-Right. If that is the case, it is obviously questionable but if it IS the case, does that change
the legitimacy of the video linked? I think the video speaks for itself in that those people were absurd. Not absurd
cause they were trans. It was like something from South Park.
3.) I did post not anything saying "All lives matter," though even if I HAD: so what? All lives do matter. Yes, I get the distinction and the arguments people make that framing it as such can take away from BLM as a focus in and of itself. I'm not trying to do that but I bring up the ALM example as it seems a poor measure/means to basically assess someone's character.
What I was saying about BLM is not that I don't agree with the motivation and need to protest/raise awareness of black people unfairly treated or unjustifiably killed at the hands of police but rather the approach by many (not all) within the BLM - or at least those that make the news/social media - often demonize all cops. And also are incredibly antagonist against black cops which I think is unfair. They (the protestors/activists) perpetuate this dichotomy of if you're black and a cop you're bad, a race traitor. Look at videos of activists calling black cops all kinds of stuff - really bad stuff.
Now, does this make me PRO COP - i.e. I always take the cop's side? - NO. I can engage in nuance. There are bad cops, people that shouldn't be cops but that doesn't mean all are bad or that we should just get rid of law enforcement, or get rid of prisons. Again, it's throwing the baby out with the bathwater, which to me, is one of the big problems and signs of the time.
I think it's driven by media (mainstream and social), general anxieties people have: economic, environmental. I think people on various levels intuit the destruction human civilization is (has) unleashed on our earth and now we have a system that is threating us all, and that frustration and anxiety manifest in different ways.
We're part chimp (great band, btw). Tribalism is in our DNA and that is an uphill struggle for us. Another, I'd argue, hurtle we must surmount, if we can. Can we not revert to tribes?
I'm generally on the side of most things "Liberal" but I'm not a blind follower and won't just agree with what everyone else does cause its the thing to do.
