Been a while since I've posted, but this is what I played on Monday night. I decided to try to go more distorted and heavier than I have in the past and did my best not to instantly rely on a bunch of reverb and delay to fill all the empty space. It was a fun time!
In other news, I think I've gotten a few modules since last I posted. I made a special trip to WMD on Friday just to get a MSCL for Monday. Definitely needed that. I've been planning on it for a while, so not quite an impulse purchase. I haven't had the chance to play with it much, but it did a fantastic job of allowing me to make harsher sounds in a live setting without ruining everyone's ears. I've gotten the synchrodyne and it's expander and I absolutely love it. It's a fuck ton of space for a filter, but it's a lot of modules and one and has a lot of sonic territory it covers. Got the ADDAC506 and it's like Maths with random goodness in it. But it's really easy to make it a subtle random that really adds life to a patch. It's a bit expensive and a bitch to actually get, but so far it's been worth it. The expander has some extra random outputs which are very useful.
Finally, I got the Vector Sequencer, but I very quickly determined it's not what I need/want for my workflow. I can do everything it does with the ER-101/102 already in less space. It is super easy to program though, but in the end, it wasn't different enough to really make my workflow different. I didn't want to break what wasn't broken. So I think I'm going to get an Assimil8or with the proceeds.

Man, I kind of getting over not having a dedicated music space in my house but cash is still tight so IDK when I will be able to rectify this situation. Also, kids are kicking my ass, making a little bit of noise but not quite a s much as I want.
I am thinking about selling my Buchla because I am not using it much as I think I should. I know I got to the same place when My 4 year old was about 1 years old. My youngest turns 1 at the end of the month. WHat happened after I sold my Buchla last time...I got another one. So, probably just being silly. Although, the funds could get me a little pre-built/pre-fab metal building and I could finish the inside and make it a useable space AND I could put together a nice Euro system AND put money in the bank. So, same insanity as usual

Just wait a couple years. The silver panels will be rare and sought after. Seems ridiculous, but I’m willing to bet people will pay a premium for it.Muse FTW wrote:Thanks for mentioning this. THAT'S. WHY. YOU BUY. TWO!
or something.
Deltz - i feel you. been getting about 2, maybe 3 hours a week to do noisin's. and i don't even have any spawn. YOU ARE A BRAVER MAN THAN I SUH.
i mean. if you don't lose much moving it and can rebuy it if you want again..... why not get what's more relevant for your situation now?
Yeasty - didja grab an Assy yet? didja? DIDJA?
or something.

Gotta get money for the Vector first at the moment. Hoping by Labor day sale time? Though they do seem to pop up used??

I think that if I sell the Buchla now, I probably won't ever get what I have again. I don't think I can stomach paying Buchla prices, in bulk again.behndy wrote:THAT'S. WHY. YOU BUY. TWO!

I am going to go ahead and sell a few pedals and maybe my Deckard's Dream/Linnstrument - that is an awesome synth but for realz, I am not an amazing polysynth player - I can use an app and have my needs met.

Man you have awesome synths and I am sad that you have to make these decisions. I wish I could take the Deckard's off your hands, but I definitely don't have the cash to swing it.Deltaphoenix wrote:I think that if I sell the Buchla now, I probably won't ever get what I have again. Not really honestly. I've had a few pedals listed for awhile with no real interestbehndy wrote:lol. do pedals still sell? i have a box full i just.... haven't had time or energy to list.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
The market for synths even seems pretty weak right now. We’ve kind of hit saturation. Great time to buy though.

I think it is a sign of other things to come soon. The economy is slowing down, I wonder how much/how low it will go.
