About 5 seconds for the shorties, and about 7 on the one that loops back on itself. They're creaky and janky and don't a;ways run smoothly, so there's extra wow + flutter tossed in for free. Lo-fi as heck, but if I wanted a clean sound I'd use a looper.

So I was talking to my friend about the stress of flying with guitars, he offered me this advice for checking in instruments when you're flying within the US, and I pass it on to you: "Get a hardshell lockable case, then throw a gun in there and lock it up. TSA can't fuck with it then."

What if you just say there's a gun in there.

Well that ain't fun. Also, they may ask to inspect anyways (which you gotta be present for), and while I don't imagine it's illegal to falsely declare a gun, they'd probably be dicks about it.oldangelmidnight wrote:What if you just say there's a gun in there.

I do recall reading a NYTimes travel tip column (written by the guy who invented Zipcar) suggesting that his personal solution to losing his luggage upwards of 10 times a year (pre-9/11, mind you) was to pack a starter pistol in his check-in bag, which probably still works
Per the TSA website (traveling within the US):

Per the TSA website (traveling within the US):
TSA wrote:You may transport unloaded firearms in a locked hard-sided container as checked baggage only. Declare the firearm and/or ammunition to the airline when checking your bag at the ticket counter. The container must completely secure the firearm from being accessed. Locked cases that can be easily opened are not permitted. Be aware that the container the firearm was in when purchased may not adequately secure the firearm when it is transported in checked baggage.
Good morning!

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
For whatever reason the JHS show popped up on my YT recommendations with a video they posted a video about tape echo history. Conflicted, because I love tape echoes but I loathe JHS, I watched it anyway. My co-op life partner was in and out of the room, eventually asked who this guy was. I had to pause the video. "Uh, well his name is Josh, he runs a pedal company, and he is kind of a scum bag" and then I explained a few things from the past before asking why she asked.
She replied "I was just curious. He has that vibe of a guy who drives around the neighborhood in a van real slow and my stranger danger alarm is going off."

So this might be a silly question, but it just popped in my head, would it be possible to put a high/low pass filter knob between the values of the treble/bass control of the James tonestack to determine how the mids behave within those controls, in addition to the resonance and presence or is that a "4 beers in" idea?

Pladask is putting up Draume, Taken, and Fabrikat on their web store in a couple weeks.
On the Fabrikat, a casual glance shows that the flipper’s premium is setting down a bit as production catches up with demand. Lowest on Reverb is $375 shipped. After initial shipping to get it and selling fees and costs, that’s not much. I’m remembering the gradual fall of CT5 flips back to earth.
