Super Metroid and Castlevania are bad games with bad mechanics and aren’t fun to play.

super metroid’s handling has not aged well but the rest of the game is still the peak of its genre. castlevania is such a huge, varied franchise that you really have to narrow it down lol

I played through Castlevania 3 recently and it was painful, and I’m at the final boss in Super Metroid (going to beat it later tonight). Both games have wonderful aesthetics and soundtracks. But the handling in them makes them awful to play.

While I’m here, I also played through Majora’s Mask recently and it was one of the most unenjoyably frustrating games I’ve ever played. It’s not a fun game in any sense of the word.

I found an article about that. Why did they make the international version so hard? They made every part of the gameplay harder for the international release. I might’ve gotten over the horrible jumping mechanics and stiff character handling if I was playing with the famicom version. That explains why the famicom version is a little pricey compared to other famicom games.

Also, Super Metroid was better than Castlevania.

you keep saying "castlevania" like it doesn't refer to multiple types of completely different game lol. the post-SOTN 2D metroid-alikes feel much less clunky than super metroid but with most of the good stuff intact.
