been geeked about the NerdSeq for awhile now. woot?

I think I saw a video where you can program NerdSeq with like a Sega Genesis controller? That seems pretty rad.

you can! i think people have got a few different controllers to work with it?

lol. buuuuut.... that doesn't appeal to me at ALL. i did order the MIDI I/O and 16 More Triggers expanders, but the most i use MIDI for right now is to sync, start and stop my Deluge. going to try with the NerdSeq and 16 Trigs and Pam's still with her smaller MIDI expander that gives me 4 tempo sliced trigger outs.

iiiiiiii ammmmmmm going to try using thr NerdSeq to replace the FLXS and the Metron. never getting rid of the Metron, but with the 16 outs and the drum matrix page in the Nerdz, might be plenty of control for the Assy Eighty.

boof. and having all the patterns for all control outs available and linked to each other in the same module? yes please.

AND a builder that actually updates his loots?

YES.

PLEASE.

I picked up some cheap bois during the halloween sale, Pico DSP and Tiptop Forbidden Planet Filter. Both slap hard and are incredibly simple. While cv controlled everything is rad, sometimes I just want to put a filter or a simple delay in a patch without all that wiggly noodle nonsense and these two do that without any hub-bub. Let's. Finish. This. Patch. Today.

ugh. annnnnd apparently ZetaOhm guy has abandoned the FLXS. so glad i ordered a NerdSeq now. the updates were glacial as is, like 80% bug fixes instead feature additions, pretty much NONE of the promised features showed up. i'm... bummed. i loved that thing.

fuck it. NerdSeq gets here Friday. makes me even more jiggly wiggly about diving into it.

I'm also bummed about the Zetaohm FLXS1 being abandoned by the creator.

I still like mine well enough, it's perfect for my e370 case and I love the arp features. Yes, it is missing midi recording and chord modes that were promised, along with an easier way to store presets but you can't win 'em all. I enjoy using mine and now that it's relatively worthless I'll probably hold onto it. Was debating Hermod for a while but after watching some videos I realize it's not for me. FLXS1 has been the closest sequencer to "perfect-for-me" that I have used.

Guarantee a Muffwiggler nerd will edit the code in the next week to fix some shit too, them guys be tripping on opensource shit. I saw some dude in the thread talking about adding MIDI recording and it would be so tight to send Keystep cv and gate to the thing over MIDI and have it all just record right into the sequencer when you have an idea that you don't want to program in by pressing buttons and turning knobs.

User editable arp scales would also make my jimmy boing.

yeah. i mean. NerdSeq has that shizz because THE GUY THAT MADE IT STUCK WITH IT.

heh. i mighhhhhht know someone that is looking at having hardware made without the goofy buttons (which i always hated) now that it's open source.

yes. would be nice if the UI and feature set was finished.

yes. it sucks BUTTS that my FLXS is now worthless.

yes. if it gets finished and a Non ZetaOhm Option is available i might grab one.

I have not synthed in awhile. I really need to get back at it sometime. That being said, I've been playing guitar a lot lately and I have actually written songs for the first time in literally ever. Been trying to be more open and vulnerable, which apparently means I can actually get past my writing lyrics block.

I have been LOVING the Squid Salmple since I picked it up.
Having a simple way to record directly into the module is way more efficient for me than recording into a DAW and then transferring it to an SD card. It's basically replaced everything I used an OP-1 for, just more flexible in basically every way.

My entire Palette is getting more play time than my 7u, but that could just be a honeymoon phase. Having a little system that can get grooving in seconds has been incredibly satisfying with how little time I have to play around some days. I can definitely see myself adding a second Palette eventually to supplement the first one with a couple effects and another voice.
