Not out of personal experience but an abundance of caution, you should probably avoid UAD plugins until after winning a lottery jackpot. Fairchild limiters not being cheap and all.

I clicked on a link for their new interfaces after one of the release videos... and found out that the first desktop with more than two inputs is $1700. No worries there.

Sounds like you already went ahead and snagged one. I'd recommend going Tonic, PO-32 over the rhythm one as there are more options and functions available on the PO-32. While you certainly can use one as your main drum sound, as mentioned, there is a lot of tweaking involved/available. I love the size and that you can link them together, but to me, they are more fun toys as opposed to musical instruments. Sure, you CAN make a song, album, whatever w these little gadgets, but you can also make music with pretty much anything. Making music w Pocket Operators is more gimicky than anything else in my opinion. No denying that they are fun AF to play with though.

If you didn't already get one, I'd watch the used market. A few months ago when I first started collecting these, they were priced much lower used than these days. It seems that they gained a lot of popularity in recent months and as such, more are available used and more people are trying to make their money back as opposed to offering good deals. You can definitely find one with a case that is priced right around where the high end of used ones are without a case.

Sold my LP and picked up a Charvel San Dimas Style II (the tele). I’m stoked to have an alternative to my G&L with passive pickups and a Floyd instead of a Kahler. The Kahler just doesn’t dive bomb the same.

Wasnt looking for anything but this popped up at the right price locally so I snagged it. Really impressed. The different flavors each have unique character, much moreso than the Bonzai. I never realized how much I like a Muff. Sounds great on both bass and guitar.

Does it come with a mid boosted setting like the more modern boutique muffs?

I am not a muff expert and havent tried it in a band mix yet, but some seem a bit more sonically present than others.

Marketing material says:
The Civil War - More mids, less gain, brighter tone
The Russian - Less low end, less clarity
The Pi - More aggressive sound
The Triangle - More low end and articulation
'73 Ram Head - Less gain, scooped mids, and darker tone
JHS 2015 - Less compressed, more power, punchy mids. Great for bass.

Rubberneck should hopefully be here today! I've been watching a lot of demos and I am very excited for this one. I have lots of ideas for it!

I also finally decided to upgrade my mixer to a Mackie 1202VLZ4 (really wanted something simple with two aux sends so I could mess with some feedback routing) and grabbed a gold Dispatch Master that I've been watching on Reverb.

I only had a rubberneck briefly, but it's a pretty cool pedal. I would recommend playing around with pedals in the feedback loop!

Yeah that's one of the things I'm really excited about. To start, I'm planning on tossing in a Clarinot for some warbles, a Luminary for some crazy pitch shifting, and a Tremstortion for some stutters and distortion

Ct5 can be crazy fun in the effects loop of the rubberneck!

Digitech Freqout is great in effects loops. I’m using it right now in the loop of the empress reverb and it is awesome!
