Haven't played with my VI in a minute, so I refinished the pick guard so I might be more inclined to pick it up.

BTW, Eventide has pretty quietly refreshed their version of the DC7, the PowerMax (now) Mk 2. Adds the 24 vdc out that was omitted from the original PowerMax, and they are marketing their own branding of the Cioks 4, the PowerMini. The trade off on the Mk 2 is that three outputs are fixed at 9 vdc at 660 mA, which shouldn’t mess with many people. Cabling kit is geared to people with multiple Eventide H9/Factor/Space pedals where the DC7 cabling will cover one of these and more single termination Boss type connections. $209 vs $229 for the Cioks.Gone Fission wrote:I saw that thread, and I had looked hard at the CS supplies. I could make a CS12 work and save some money. I could maybe even get by with a CS6. But I do like the 4/8 expansion options because I do think of adding a board (or more) with just one cord to wall AC. The whole point is simplifying the cables and connections, right?Dowi wrote:I wrote a post here (viewtopic.php?f=149&t=11555&start=44760#p1380925 just a couple days ago about the true tone 1spot Cs12 brick, so I definitely recommend it. Otherwise the DC7 seems a good choice, even more now that it's expandable with the CIOKS 4 or 8.
I’m futzing with sales rep chat to see if I can get close to the discount I can get on the PowerMax because the DC7’s cable kit is better for me.
If you don’t care about expansion, I’d be watching for clearance sales on the older PowerMax.

That finish is like looking to the sky in a night where the Milky Way is visible. Terrific.UglyCasanova wrote:Haven't played with my VI in a minute, so I refinished the pick guard so I might be more inclined to pick it up.

I'm am officially giving up on civil war muff clones. I don't care if I am stopping at 2. Both, made by different builders add this strange phasing problem with my rig.. and they both added extra hum to everything.. I put in another type of muff and the problem is gone... even my bypassed sound was better... how the fuck is that even a thing with true bypass pedals?.. fuck it. I just going to use the tuned muff I made.. I going to buy a klondike bar a glue the wrapper on the pedal for "art" and call it good.

Dish the dirt, which clones didn't work for you and which one solved your problem? If you don't wanna say, what kind of amp are you using and how clean is it? I don't have a lot of Muffsperience but all the ones I've tried have worked well with clean amps. Tried the LSTR clone I made with my buddys (modded) Blues Jr and it was pretty useless compared to the amp dirt. Added to the already present amp hum as well. So I would say a Muff is not a good option if your amp is already dirty? How it would affect even the bypassed sound I have no idea though.

I love muffs but personally I never liked any of the "civial war" muffs I played, and I played a few. Never noticed noise problems, though I don't think I ever put any of those in chain with more than 1 or 2 pedals.Blackened Soul wrote:I'm am officially giving up on civil war muff clones. Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Honestly I haven't,never had the chance when I was looking for one and then I found what I was looking for.
I have been eyeing their De La Riva for a while because that would give me the option to have every muff ever under my feet, but then I thought that it would be too much as I already have 3 Muffs here, and when I put them on board I just set and forget it.

Dirt on the dirt: stomp under foot and Ronsound. Both great sounding they just hate me or something... And it's funny after my post I when and tested the pedal through a different amp [fender baseman 20] and a onespot for power.. it worked fine

Gave it thought.. but they cost too much anything over 200 and my thoughts are might as well just buy another sovtek...MechaGodzilla wrote:curious if either of you tried the w&c box of war coz, civil war or not, that's a beautiful muff imo. probably my favourite.
