Just wanted to share this diagram, because I think maybe you all would get a kick out of it. I’ve been helping a friend work out a surround sound pedal steel set up with one output per string, one amp per string, a ten input interface/computer set up with the wet delay and reverb routing sent to opposing room side amps.

this is sick.
i'd like to be in the middle of it, i don't think there is a way to have the same feeling without recording/mixing/playing it for a dolby 7.1 sorroud.

It’s still a ways off, he is waiting for an expression to midi converter to show up to see how he likes it (for the swells) before he takes the bigger plunge on two interfaces (10 instrument level inputs, I couldn’t find a single thunderbolt interface with more than 8.) He already has the converted pedal steel and the 10 amps. I’ve been consulting him on how to use Reaper and how to handle the routing and what interfaces to look for and what such. But when it’s all finally done I will definitely get some photos and documentation and I’ll see if we can’t get a Dolby 7.1 recording of it in action.

Edit: also if you live in the Seattle area I’ll try to give you a shout out if this gets performed live at some later date.

thanks! yeah i bought that tape to mark down settings on weird pedals but i've mainly used it to rename pedals in stupid way
