Hell of a first post.

What's up with that explorer with flying V headstock? Looks cool.

It's a Melody Maker Explorer from a run of Melody Maker stuff they did a few years back. Maple body, mahogany neck, one pickup, one knob, made in the USA. I covered the front with a nylon fabric I found at JoAnn Fabric.

Here's a close up on that Yamaha I shoved in the toolbox. It's an absolutely beautiful monster of a clean pedal platform.

That is amazing. I have a G100ii 212 and it's wonderful. Sleeper amps for sure.

Recorded a video with my band today - thought I'd use the chance to make a silly tone-henge. The 8x10 on the bottom belonged to the studio, but the rest is mine. 13 speakers in total there.

Half rack shelf with an Aguilar Tonehammer and MXR bass distortion on the left, and a half rack guitar 'preamp' I made on the right (Runoffgroove Thunderbird). The preamp doesn't get used much atm, so might get rid of it and put something different in the empty rack space.

Been curious about old Traynor TS series amps and found one in good shape for a reasonable price this weekend. Will prob get some play as a second guitar amp and bass amp on a record Im tracking next month.

What's the patch bay setup like coming out of the board?

Also explain please the big cabs on top theory

Patch bay has outs for bass in, guitar in, loop send, loop return, MIDI to the guitar amp. A MIDI controller on the board handles channel switching for my Mesa head and amp selection between guitar/bass/both with a MIDI aby switcher.

The Traynor doesn't really fit into the rig as you see it FWIW.

The cabs on top are 2x12s so not really 'big cabs' by any stretch. The cabs on the bottom are just 4x10 bass cabs so math=they look smaller. Running the bass cabs on top of the guitar cabs would be silly from a sound design perspective.

That makes sense, any stability issues?

Nope. The feet on my 2x12s sit right over the sides of the bass cabs so each stack is pretty stable.
