Can someone explain the odsessian on ilf with stuff that is the same color pink as my grandmother's toilette seat cover?

I love Shell Pink on Fender instruments - a classic color for a Stratocaster - but it's a little too flashy for me.

What I don't understand are the new Gibson SG's in Shell Pink - not a classic color for them, and not period correct for that instrument (it's a 50's color). I don't understand Gibson's marketing at all.

In addition to more common Cherry, Ebony, and Walnut finish options, this crop of SGs also includes Frost Blue, Kerry Green, Coral, Shell Pink, Olive Drab, and Gloss Yellow finishes.

I think this is Shell Pink, and the other one below is Coral. But why use Fender colors? I like the mustard color okay -- pretty much a "TV Yellow" -- but the other ones just look wrong, and who do they expect will buy these?

In theory I like the idea of gibson / fender colors swapped up but not by the actual companies.. that should you be something you do or have done to your guitar. Ready made pawnshop instruments bug me. And yeah I'm fine with you guys wanting shell pink / light blue guitars & pedals , but if someone gave me one I'd have the paint stripper out the next day Speaking of classic rare F colors why isn't there more turquoise ones?

I will just come out and say I am all for this. SG is one of the best body shapes out there, they look nice in red, white, black and whatnot, but why not expand the selection a little. The greenish one looks like a good time

I certainly support a broader spectrum of colors for SG's, but pastels with tortz pickguards are too much of a tip of the hat to Fender for my taste.

But if they made one in CAR I would be all over it.
