Re: Seppuku FX
The unwanted distortion sounds very much like the crazy sounds that I had with my DEM a few weeks ago. Swap it and it should be fine again.

Just swap them. Pt2399's have been notorious for coming in bad batches, and some being noisier than others, right off the bat. Always good to buy a few extra for builds, in case you install a fickle one.

Alright! Since I don't know s**t about all that stuff, is there a brand/a shop that you would favor, or a chip is a chip and I can buy any pt2399 right off any website?Jero wrote:Just swap them. Well, the seller has marked it as "reserved". Why is that so, huh?Pepe wrote:Seppuku Pitch Monster for sale in Finland for 100 EUR!

I will serve as an interstation to Serbia only, though. But I'm going to do a demo.

Re: Seppuku FX
Overall this Pitch Monster version is a slightly stripped-down Digital Pitch Modulator. The six-mode switch enables six of the eight modes of the DPM (or the Pitch Monster with the three mode switches). The two missing modes are "7 semitones down" ("4 semitones up" sounds pretty much the same, if not better) and the rather useless "2 semitones down", so you're not really missing anything. But there is no fuzz circuit. If you want similar sounds you have to blend it with another fuzz pedal via a Boss LS-2 for example. Then you have every useful sound of the DPM-2.
The only thing that I personally love even more is the added fourth knob of my DPM-2, which somehow controls the input level for the effect. That one enhances the performance in a great way and I don't know why Rhys (the maker of the pedals) didn't implement this knob in any Pitch Monster variant.
The optical design of this pedal is so awesome! I almost like it more than the graphics of my DPM-2. It's in a bigger enclosure, which surprised me a bit. It's even slightly bigger as my Dynamic Echo Modulator. I'll have a look inside the Pitch Monster tomorrow. Gut pics will follow as well.
