i think the shimmer on the alexander marshmallow is nice cause it is lofi. eventide crystals only sounds good buried in a mix and on bass, it is super annoying.

Dowi wrote:haha, well i love delays, but i don't necessarily need 3 of those but, you know, a warm pt2399, a pitch shifting delay, and a third multi-mode digital one with a feedback loop? It's the minimum!
The case is that, as long as i strongly prefer how the Fabrikat sounds overall, i still find the Particle2 more practical for various reasons - i.e. keep the weirdest settings saved as presets because i'd have a hard time to find those again on the fly, or use the LFO modes for simple pitch shifting delays, or the fact that it has tap tempo and so on..
Obviously if i had the chance to keep both there would be no problem, but i just can't justify having one of those things laying around and not being used properly, it just bugs me.
But again...i'm divided.
I can almost feel this, as I dont have a delay yet and I am already dreading if I get the "right one" or not
That Hardwire delay thing sounds great on bass. Get yer Tool on.
If it receives an endorsement from metal raptors then it must be good.

tru, I like the shimmer in the RV-500 because you can set the pitches. I like to assign them to the momentary switch so that the reverb goes ooOOOOOOoooOOoo when I step on it like a spooky ghost. Good for C&S (Condemn & Scorn) music.

Tone knob obligation on all shifting devices, that's all I ask for
Shimmer with the pitch up a fifth is intolerable without tone control. And it helps generally.
But also, and I never see people talk about it so I’m assuming they are missing it, use the tone knob on your guitar to have a profound impact on the sound when using shimmer, pitch up, and octave up fuzz. Okay, people know about the last one, but seriously on the others.

Wondering about frequency modulation pedals --> is there something else other than the quadrature modes on the Mobius and the Iron Ether Arcing Prisms (which is at the top of my wantlist since several months but apparently unobtainable in my neck of the woods)?
