Far Cry seems to take the same base concept and use it every time, but they also add new wrinkles that keep it from just being a reskin... Like just getting poisoned being around some of the meth heads. I thought 5 was pretty cool but it was also way more than I had time for.... Primal was definitely my favorite. I think it was just the pure simplicity of it. Only a few weapons, the beast taming was cool, environmental stuff... Made the game feel more strategic and less just happening to have the right weapons in your loadout for whatever random enemies you ran into... Although I did LOVE killing bears in Far Cry 5. Not as much as I love killing a murderous Pooh Bear in Witcher 3, but it's tough to top that.

I finally got Battlefield 4 and the campaign fucking sucks, man.
The locked FOV of, like, 55 gave me a serious headache.
Also, the story's dumb.

I don't have the funds for it, but I really want to play TLOU2 before I accidentally read any spoilers. Also, the ps5 looks like a sexy radiator. It's a ballsy design, but I'm game for it.

Oh, and RE8! Give me! I'm one of those people who didn't enjoy RE4 that much, but I loved RE7. So, maybe this will let me enjoy the european peasant village vibe.

I just picked up Doom Eternal and Mario U Deluxe on sale.

Doom Eternal is basically just Doom 2016, but even more arcade-y and wild. It is ridiculously fun to sail through the air, grappling hook a demon, and pulverize them with a shotgun to the face. It seems much more difficult, though; I feel like if you stop to breath, you're dead, and I'm only playing on normal difficulty. Watching someone speedrun Ultra-Nightmare is a beautiful sight. Also, there is so much more platforming than I remember in the last one.

Haven't tried Mario U Deluxe yet, but I am planning on playing that with the fiancee.

.... the article I saw said they were just showcasing it vertical. It can be horizontal.

Playing Borderlands 3. It's kind of fun, kind of fucking stupid, but I'm enjoying it!

My brother let me borrow a shit ton of games so I have my work cut out for me. Thank goodness for not having to spend money. He let me borrow like 20 games. Crazy.

lol. i get a bit paralyzed with TOO many new games to try at once.

yah. Borderlands is silly. it, in some ways intentionally, some ways unintentionally, spoofs itself. i love the combat and weapons and sheer amount shit you can accrue.

LOVE IT.

but yeah. BL3 has one of the weakest stories of the series.

kinda burnt and taking a break until the new DL drops end of the month.

grabbed Doom Eternal and hoooooo BOY that thing is rough. only like 5 guns total, each with 2 alt fire options, but with the flamethrower and glory kills and blood punch and the chainsaw and how much they throw at you in very mulitlayered levels... boof. a LOT to keep track of.

i rarely if ever remember to flame demons for the armor drops, but balancing shoot HIM in his shoulder mounted missile launchers to stop the long range attack, feed Floaty Doofus a grenade to stun him, ice grenade the mob so they hold still while Glory Kill'ing floater for health, blow up all the iced mob, chainsaw another mook for ammo.... is super fun and hectic as all the butts.

the platforming is just (so far) perfectly on the line of explore enough to figure it out, try it 4 or 5 times, hope this is what you're actually supposed to do, then YES PLEASE made the final jump.

Yeah that's definitely my experience with Doom Eternal so far. There is so much more going on in this one, which can be awesome, but also annoying. I keep forgetting to use the flamethrower as well and I rarely switch to the ice grenade. Too much to keep track of

lol. yeah. only through the 3rd level of the campaign i think? so just a gun or two are upgraded, barely any suit or runes. but loooooved Doom 2016, so i kinda get where their heads are at with hiding stuff, find most pretty easy.

uff. fuck YEAH. so much going on almost every time i clear a room i find a row of explosive barrels or shot activated scythe or some death trap I DIDN'T SEE TILL IT CALMED DOWN, so i reload and play it with way less resource use.
