Traded for a JMJ Road Worn Mustang bass - the relic job is pretty corny but it's got a satin neck and the only normal Mustang pickup arrangement available - and bought an Acoustic B100C amp.

Shocked that the Acoustic sounds great for the cheapest practice amp Guitar Center had in stock and the Mustang weighs less than either of my guitars.

i would love to have a 1x15 to run when i want that 1969 Altamont guitars-through-SVTs tone. i played through a bassist's SVT once and it was glorious.

Not sure what's happening with the Super Neo-matic, so in the meantime I've ordered something local.

Made in the UK by Intensive Care Audio, it's called a Fideleater.

I've come up with a plan to slow down my pedal buying excesses, because while I don't have any financial worries right now, I'd like to be able to keep what I buy rather than have to sell stuff because I've gone too far ;)

So, I'm "allowing" myself £100 a month to spend. If I spend £300 then I have to wait 3 months before buying something else. No idea if this has a hope of working, because I reckon a lot of my recent purchases have been to distract myself from the dumpster fire the world has become right now.

I barely find room on the board before I'm back looking at Reverb etc. for the next fix, and have numerous pedals which I have little or no idea what they can do. I don't feel particularly guilty about this, I know of many people who are finding things difficult and struggling to create, but I would like to tap into the huge resource I now have in front of me a bit more often.

The Fabrikat is going to fit in nicely, but I think the biggest surprise has been the Stamme[n] V3, which was bought without much thought but has proved already to be a cool source of unusual sounds. I had a V1 but never completely got on with it, the V3 is much more fun.

So in theory . . . it should be December before I add another post to this page. Feel free to chuckle if I'm back next week.

in all seriousness, as a recreational drug user, I always used to have benchmark friends...those who I considered the real crazies...the ones who skirted death on the regular. I figured as long as I wasn't at their level I was okay.

I eventually came to realize that for a lot of my friends, I was THAT guy and that was when I said, time to dial it back. The irony of this post being that while I am about to tell you that you are my benchmark guy, I'm sure replies will fly in that I'm other people's benchmark guy so.... :picard:

I'm happy to be THAT guy for a while ;)

The one thing that keeps me from being worried is that I do have the money coming in to cover what I've spent so I'm not taking a big risk in doing what I'm doing.

My mortgage is paid off and apart from pedals (and toys for my daughter) I live pretty frugally, so I won't be going bankrupt any time soon.

Oh yeah, just to be clear...no judgement on my end. Also, cause I know you are worried...I too am not building debt while filling every available corner of my jam room w new (to me) gear. Just being responsibly irresponsible.

Don't worry, I don't feel judged :)

I have a problem though - due to the seller being under lock down, I've been refunded for the Alexander Super Neo-matic.

Now, under my new plan I should be waiting until December before I buy something else, but am I allowed to re-spend that money as it was already spent before the plan was begun ?

;)
