I'm going nuts looking at tele bridge pickups. feel like i've settled with a dumb pickup config but im also intrigued by what humbucker options would be cool with a proper tele steel plate

i put a 12k single coil esquire pickup in my tele recently and i'm really happy with it. it's not as wildly hot on the output as you'd think but would probably work well with other HB/high output pickups

Who made the pickup? First I kinda just tried looking up what pickups were esquire pickups cause I like Syd's esquire sound. I got really confused by the nomenclature of what all -casters were

He used to link that up with a minimoog and a 808 trigger to get machine gun bass sounds. He was really into the sequential stuff. He had a prophet 10!

standard on some Kay/Kay-related guitars. literally shaped similar to a chocolate bar, i.e broader and longer than a Firebird pickup or the like. single coil; sound extremely cool. not to be confused with the Kay/Harmony "speed bump" pickups which are shaped differently and have a rounded ridge in the center of the cover running from left to right. i think there's a blade under the speed bump, but that's only conjecture.

Hershey bars're Harmony. Speed bumps're Kay. (You're a Chicagoan, you're supposed to know these things.)

in my own defense, i wasn't even alive when they were making Hershey bar pickups, and under 8 when speed bumps were made.

some examples are alleged to have been made by DeArmond; i have no evidence either way, and frankly can't be arsed to search. Google Is Your Friend.
