Oh, you meant their there. ;)

Didn't so much care for the reverb, at least on what I was messing with, but the other stages have a lot of potential for a lot of interesting and unique explorations.

This would be an awesome fucking radical af hardware pedal. UVI Shade too, another recent one that I have fallen in love with that I found through ILF. Just imagining those two with lots of knobs, buttons and a touchscreen . . . . :yay: :yay: :yay:
Nice. Sometimes I watch Sandman Pro clips on YT, because I miss it so much. I could put that on anything.

Have you used the first of Audio Thing's "Things" series? I got it when it was free, and was using it for coloration/texture, not as a reverb. It's obviously not as deep or inspiring as stuff like Albedo or Grainspace, but it's nice if you want to quickly get results without much refinement.

Also, are you an adopter of Timeless? I've never used their stuff, but I may have to grab T3. I already have so many delay plugins (Reflex-Pro-X, Antagone, Valhalla, Echo Cat, various Binson emulators, J37, Objeq, Relayer), but I'm leaning heavily toward grabbing this, when I get another computer.

Wait, gated snares are passe now? Shiiiii . . . . .

What I like about Silo is that though it is granular (and a couple of the demos I've seen so far went right for the standard granular thing we've heard a million times), for me the pleasant part was how easy it was to take a bar or whatever size I tell it and shape the ASDR at specified rates, directions and starting and ending points, all with visual feedback. This is the first I've seen anything give that kind of control. In other words, it can act like an always on looper, EHX 16 style, but with more control

I'm with you though, I've been long over that standard granular "Million Jawas" sound

I was never able to get into Sandman Pro but I should revisit

I have Wires, Reels and Speakers from Audiothing. The only that I use often is Speakers which I reach for more and more when mixing. It can make something really stand out in a pleasing way.

I bought Timeless 3 because the upgrade was cheap and it looked liked a huge improvement over T2. But I haven't played with it yet. I'm hoping it has less latency than C2 and L2, both of which I stopped using on my 2-bus because I'm going for unnoticeable latency for interchangeable live and studio/mixing purposes.

Cherry Audio delivers again. Finally, someone offers MPE support, 16 voices of polyphony, and it costs $29. Korg could've made this years ago, but they decided to stick with a monophonic version at $100 for desktop users ($30 for iOS). Also, CA's version can be used as an FX plugin. I remember Korg's version having a small UI, relatively dull starter sounds, and missing several desirable features when I previewed the desktop version in 2020. There was nothing about it, that refreshed or revitalized the vintage hardware unit.

Here's Micah's first offering for May, and it's only $9 until early/mid-June (or included with Century Pass).

If you're fatigued with granular, I could see how Sandman might not factor in. I typically used it for glassy textures and crystal repeats.

sample chain:

harps/plucky synths/pianos > modulated reverb > Sandman > vintage-voiced delay (for added size and depth) > EQ/preamp > compressor

My approach to Sandman is similar to how I use the AT plugins. Early on, I set up several templates I liked. Then, I locked several parameters (in/output levels, feedback) and triggered the randomization feature. If I'm stacking 3-4 delays in sequence, I don't need to adjust 15-30 knobs every session. I'm fairly content to mix & match tested foundations, along with a bit of randomizing.

$320 street
The new Pulse Doppler Fader takes after the Lovetone Doppleganger. Designed in collaboration with Coggins, the Pulse Doppler combines analog phase shifting, vibrato, and tremolo with an extensive control set to create a pulsating, pitch-warping pedal that mimics the Doppler effect's distinctive frequency change.
