i've been all about the Sígur Ros lately. "Njosnavelin" popped up on YouTube one day and reminded me of how much i loved them in the 00s, and i've been buying the parts of their catalog i'd missed, which is mainly the last 2 records (Valtari and Kveikur). i like Valtari a lot; Kveikur has a harder rock edge more reminiscent of the first (Icelandic) album, Von. but "Njosnavelin" is now and forever my favorite SR song, though i have a deep and abiding love for "Samskyeti." the version here is from a live concert broadcast from Szene in Vienna, Austria 4.13.01 before they reworked it so the piano stays in sync with the backing throughout as opposed to here where the parts are of differering lengths that overlap and go in/out of phase like a Steve Reich piece.
