Time to post another iteration of my board:



I haven't had a wah pedal in ages but it's fun.
The LS-2 has the Dead Stag and Sub'n'Up in a loop, so I can kick in distortion and octave up at the same time. The Pitch Fork is set to momentary mode for whammy style effects.
Before the board is a Dunlop DVP volume pedal.
The Palmer Y-Box splits the signal in a dry path that's going through a Jamman in a bass amp and a wet path that goes through the effects in a guitar amp.
We're only two in the band so I need to blow it all up a bit...

Yes, I guess. It's about 3/4 of a Hammond B enclosure with top mount jacks.
They didn't release the whole line as mini versions afaik but the Skysurfer is pretty cool. I was looking for a simple always on spring reverb and it delivers at an affordable price.

Here’s my current board I’m using to play mostly psych and garage type stuff. I’ve got a decent bit of diy on the board at the moment.

Sounds From The Void // Gorgon Fuzz - My personal take on a Roland BeeBaa, this is my first production pedal. All my base fuzz tones come from this pedal. It’s got two channels, one going through a BMP style filter for full sounds, the other channel goes through a notch filter for those nasty fuzz tones.
DBA // Supersonic Fuzz Gun Clone - More nasty fuzz, mostly using this guy for insane unstable oscillations and spitty fuzz tones.
Dunlop // Cry Baby Wah - Your standadry cry baby wah. I like to put this thing after my fuzzes so the filter really gets them screaming. Sometimes I’ll blast this thing on and just park it high to use as a high pass filter.
Boss // Chromatic Tuner - I use this thing here for two functions: 1. Tuning obviously 2. Signal splitting. I run the bypass into a separate amp from here that’s got the bass dimed but mids and highs at 0. This way I get somewhat cleaner bass frequencies that don’t run through delay/reverb channels.
DBA // Modded Octave Clang Clone - A fairly hard to find pedal so I decided to personally clone it. This thing is a beast at trashy drive tones. I like to turn the density down so it only lets through higher frequencies. I found that doing this doesn’t drive the pedal as much though, so I built a little preamp booster circuit before it that I can turn on with a switch.
DBA // Phosphene Scream - I’m mostly using this as a basic delay, but it does have a really cool reverb setting as well. The reverb control works as a wet/dry control, when you turn it up your dry signal gets turned down meaning at max settings you just get a well of wet verb.
Mile End Effects // Ronald Preamp-150 - A really nice space echo preamp that I use as a booster right before my amp. It somehow manages to make any signal sound better and is that extra little boost to drive my amp.
Off to the side - My prototyping breadboard that’s got another octave fuzz/distortion on it that I’ve been messing around with. This thing is usually right beside my board with different diy pedals on it in different stages of completion.

Just finished this up, it's a combo of all the pedals I was noodling around with, getting most of my dirt from stomps and then weird modulation from the M13, treating the ME-80 sortof like an amp/preamp but can also use it to grab loops from the Line6 As needed.

No it makes sense. Both loopers work in stereo and the PSAs bypasses the left and righ channels by themelves. Probably something I'm missing with the roland thing but the loopes and the other kind of loopers seems to make up most of it

Correct! The Roland is justa drum trigger module, providing kick to the Left channel of the delays and snare to the Right. The first and second PSM-5s feed the first delay which is set to a short single repeat, and the third and 4th feed those outputs to the second delay which is a single repeat at twice the length of the first delay. The PSM-5s punch the drum signal in and out of the delay so I can select a few combinations of single and double repeats for kick and/or snare. The ABY pedal sends my guitar signal (which acts as the trigger) to either/or trigger input.

Yeah, ok - I've refined myself to two buttons plus tuner at the moment (one is 'fuzz' and the other is 'even more loud') and anything larger looks intimidating.


(except for John's board, which just makes me want to quit making music and take up something chill like particle physics)


Current refinement: the Fairfield is always on. Can't sing the praises of this pedal enough it's just so fucking good even though I'm currently using it as a big LPF/Low B Resonator

Yes!! Was looking at the Sledgehammer for my bassist's rig. Can it do the more bright/clangy thing you can get out of a Rat, or is it more of a sludgy doom machine?

Would really like a KWB too.

To some degree you can get on with both I think - Moose's made a fucking monster with this one. It's an OPO7 rather than an LM308, which to me means the gain is a little less clear and clangy, but you can definitely dial in more or less whatever you want with the EQ.

KWB slaps but it's definitely something I prefer for 'leveller mode' since it can be fairly subtle if you don't have the gain or the volume boosted.

Sorry I'm hopping in here a few moths later but I would say the OP07 is clangier and tighter than the LM308. I do still prefer the slighter softer tones from the 308 on guitar and in the Battlehammer circuit on bass or guitar. I've also always used a Sledgehammer for hardcore and noise rock sounds on bass rather than doomier stuff.

I should do a comparison between the V1 and V2 Sledgehammers. It's a subtle difference so mightn't come across well in an online video.

There's a lot of redundancy that I wouldn't have if I was leaving the house. Golden Guillotine just sounds so good with Context and Draume kills it with Missionary.
Even though Surveyor is supposed to be an amp in a box, I never find that it sounds good at the end of the chain. If I needed just one drive kind of thing, though, it would be hard to choose between it and Golden Guillotine.

If I was going to put together a small board for casual hookups, it would definitely be Dust or another momentary freakout device, Tensor, Missionary, and Taken. If it was a laid-back event, I'd also bring Context, Golden Guillotine, Feber. If it was a little more aggro or adventurous; Surveyor, Draume, Aurora. If I needed a bit more fuzz, I'd go shopping for a 47 variant Ram’s Head Muff in a smaller package to replace the one in Widowmaker.
