So many things!

Mostly going, I have been trying to be a frugal as possible since I got my JEL20 head at Christmas time - what a fire breather of a head, clear, ripping and it makes you an honest player.

I finally got a corner of my house all set up with my gear ( which is super exciting) - now that I have a real amp and not a head phone / pedal rig, I can have a board that is straight effects. Plans are to slowly make the space, more organized - get a larger pedal board and incorporate more utility effects ( DI noise gate, ect)

i finally figured out how to make a pedalboard nook in my living room last fall. it took a bit of finagling, but now one half of the room has sofa/coffee table/armchairs and the other has the 3-board setup (for which i'm looking for a space-travel-adjacent name; Andy Bell already took "Space Station) with the amp heads on a small end table to one side of the keyboard bench i use so i can scoot over to work the other 2 boards and the 12" and 15" single-speaker cabinets either stacked or sitting on milk crates to keep them off the floor and the downstairs neighbors off my ass, facing the seat which is on the outside wall so sound doesn't go directly through the front door. if this building wasn't made of concrete on a steel frame i'd never get away with this. the only problem is that perching on the bench is much less comfortable than sitting in a big-ass armchair.

i'm rather impressed that Friedman can sell an amp with 2 EL84s and 3 12AX7s for $1700. that's the same tube set as my AC15!

Still got money to burn and a feeling of doom, plus a desire to make my MK1 Katana 50 combo sound like a valve amp without the accompanying hiss, so I've ordered a Tonex pedal from Amazon (as they'll take it back for free if I hate it).

Stereo out, so I could use my other MK1 Katana too ;)

Here it is: the Gehirn Enterprises NoisWasp (4MS Noise Swash clone).
What a wonderful mayhem of a fuzz pedal!

These Gehirn clones are about 100-117USD plus shipping (117usd is for the version with the Cv jacks), which is a super fair price IMHO!

Yesterday evening I did also shot a video with it: pure evil!!! I love it!!! :animal: :animal: :animal:

The Standard Swash is the one with LOTS of knobs, the Noise Swash only has lots.

I built myself one (NS) from the schematic on Guitar FX Layouts, sounds fabulous.

Yes, the Gehirn NoisWasp is a clone of the standard version of the Mini Noise Swash, same basic controls.
I also have the orginal 4MS Noise Swash module, and it has almost the same controls. But the 4MS module doesn't have the pre and post gain knobs (pre set both at full gain) and clipping switches have only 2 settings (no diodes or si+LED), while on the Gehirn you have 3 clipping options (Si, no diodes, LEDs).
Also Gehirn are offering a 8HP version of the pedal, called uWasp:

Damn, just ordered a Buzz King, looks like I got the last one

Also have a Tone City Fuxx Fuzz inbound, my HBE UFO is having old age issues and needs to warm up nowadays.

Went to Bookman's today and got $140 in trade for my used crybaby, cock fight plus and soul press II (better than expected honestly); left with the box version of the cock fight and $40 leftover credit for next time. They had a pretty nice selection for being all trade-ins, there was a V2 Wave Cannon, a half dozen or so EQDs, a Super Moon, some Fulltones, Daedalus, Fuzz Imp Sender, amongst others. Gonna go back in a few weeks for some more trades I think.

I absolutely hear you and considered multiple amps for less money - however the gain / lead tone that comes out of this SOB is straight out of the 80's ( which was the sound I was going for). Also for 20 watts this little read MOFO is extremely loud, and for a player who is not hitting the stage any time soon - its the perfect balance for what I want.

i'm sure it's a lot better than the specs make it sound. you're no dummy. i tend to be skeptical about anything that expensive compared to baseline, partly because i've watched as feature bloat in stupid expensive digital pedals became depressingly close to the norm over the last 5 years or so.

BTW, i've been going goofy with the Reverse Echo and Loop functions on the SMMH, and when the rest of the stuff gets in the Virus will be a linchpin of the front end board sound. you did good, Santa.

if you run a Princeton through a 2x12" cabinet it sounds fucking enormous, that was my strategy for years. and my modified Electar Tube 10 is also much louder than you'd think. put a ceramic Jensen 8" in and it kills. quietly.
