Re: Gasalcoholics anonymous? whoever said this was a help group?
the big question is, how good are the power supplies? is there long-term user feedback about that? i ask because i've had performance problems with several pedals associated with the MXR DC Bricks that power my main board and i wouldn't want to have to go through replacing the PS if it wasn't up to snuff.

Never had any problems with the power supplies, which are built in and not replaceable for these boards. They are quite generous and flexible, and have had more than enough for whatever I've thrown at them. The medium and XL both have 12v and 18v sockets, and the XL is just ridiculous with 14x9v500ma, enough to run a whole board of eventide and other big power chuggers.

Traded some more old stuff in to Bookman's today and came home with a Palisades, and some extra credit to spend at their other location across town, probably tomorrow. Big new board needs big new pedals...

100 swiss francs (about 115$), which is still a reasonable price.alexsga wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 2:17 pmhow muchgila_crisis wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 11:19 am I found again a Boss XT2 Xtortion on the second hand market... I couldn't say no!

One of the rarest BOSS pedals and one that I really like a lot. It has such an uncommon dirt sound. I also enjoy it as an instant-lo-fi-sound-machine from time to time with gain in minimum position.

Finally took the bluesbreaker for a proper spin, it had been way too long. It was one of my first pedals from way back, and the sound always stood out in my memory as a benchmark to compare other drives to.Pepe wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 5:45 pm I haven't heard of that KORG mixing console before. Looks great!
And I have a soft spot for the Marshall Bluesbreaker II. It has such a nice, warm sound. The (passive!) bypass is awful in that series, you have to use a buffered pedal to make the bypass sound good. But otherwise a really, really nice pedal.
Made the run to bookmans eastside store today. They had all the Red Panda pedals, but I'm pretty well covered on all those kinds of effects already, so doubled down on the fresh EQD:

Thanks! Very interesting.dubkitty wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 6:18 pmhttps://www.geminipickups.com/suprocaster.html#/coldbrightsunlight wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 4:59 am
Which one of their tele pickups is that bridge one? Had a look just now and not obvious. I've never heard of this company but recently got a new tele and toying with the idea of changing out pickups.
i was turned on to Gemini by the guy who fixed the broken neck on my ES-335. he has a sideline doing bolt-on neck guitars and uses their version of the Kay “speedbump” pickup which comes in a Tele neck configuration i plan on using for my Tele’s neck pickup.

I'm going modular. I know it's an endless pit. Given the advice I've heard from others, it's something you have to approach with caution. I'm building my dream groovebox, and not an endless sound explorer. I've bought a case. It's big, but still small enough to be a carry-on on international flights.
So, now it's time to sell everything else to afford the modules for the case

Nice! I have the DC-2, but I always wanted to try the DC-3 as well.
