before i put them away i wanted to get a picture of the Fender-oid part of the group. only one of these is a "real" Fender, the 2019 Lead II. the JM is a 2018 Squier CV i bought cheap used and rehabilitated, the Duo Sonic was a project someone sold on Reverb cobbled together from a Squier CV DS body, a 22.5" scale Mini Strat neck, and Duncan Antiquity DS pickups, and the Strat as described recently is a 30-year-old StewMac body with a CIJ '56 Strat neck and Custom Shop '54 pickups. i've been having trouble deciding what to play because i like all these guitars so much.

it only really struck me today that the Strat body is over 30 years old when i put the guitar down and could see a distinct lightening of the brown along the edge of the upper body cut. the pickups and neck came later, in the early 00s.

curious to hear what you think. i find some of the new Harmonys interesting, but horrifically overpriced. i’m not paying $1200-1600 when old ones are half that.

Me too! lol. The new/list prices are pretty high imho but probably on par with the market for USA guitars. The used Comet I bought comes with Lindy Fralin pickups and a case for $800 shipped. Definitely the most expensive guitar I have ever bought.

I don't think you can compare the brand's new models now to classic Harmony models really. The brand is owned by the same company that owns Heritage guitars so the current models are being built by Heritage at the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo. I think you gotta see them as an alternative to lower end Gibson or Heritage guitars. There are apparently more exact reissues being built in Korea at a lower price.

Hopefully I'll be impressed lol.

Been forever since I've posted. Love this place is still alive and dooming. These are my two main dining room guitars. Lately I've been using the zoom 7010 into the Bassman. 90's zoom distortion and fuzz!! 74 Musicmaster w/ a 78 neck and a late 90's early aughts MIK Dano I picked up doing a mail route for $150 over the summer.

How do you like only having a neck pup in the MM?

These are the only two that I'm 100% happy with at the moment. My other guitars are either on the chopping block already, or I'm still figuring out if I actually even like them.

These ones are coincidentally both from 2014. A CS59 Telecaster in Firemist Silver, and a Baja 60s Telecaster. The CS59 is my dream guitar, but the Baja 60s is no slouch either!

that's a sexy shade for sure. i wonder where they came up with "Firemist," though...there's nothing the least bit fiery about it.

oddly, i like Strats with maple boards but prefer rosewood on Telecasters. it's not like a Tele needs any additional brightness.

I have two MusicMasters. The other is a 78 project I got from Fever666 if i'm remembering right. Basically just 70's strat neck pickups. The only guitar I use the bridge pup on now is a shreddy jackson dk(x)mg, any other thing is all neck pickup

lol I have a silvertone 1448 and honestly it changed my opinion of neck pickups. It's probably my favorite guitar to play, best $40 I ever spent.
