Patrick Eggle guitars

Has anyone tried them? I might be able to score one for a good price.

what's the scale length of this guy? I personally love short-scale basses and hate short-scale guitars.
Maybe partying will help.

Looks pretty sweet, save for that ugly-ass humbucker. I'd rip that out and throw in a horseshoe lap steel pickup. That'd make it ever sweeter.

A cross between Hamer and Rickenbacker.
Not that bad, but not for me.

It is a short scale, apparently. I would not mind that, but from the reading I've done on these babes, it will probably go for more than what I want to pay for a guitar. Apparently they're popular among the PRS crowd as a cheaper replacement.

Especially since I'd have to do some modding on it. It would definitely need a different bridge PU, I was thinking something like a toaster or filtertron or dynasonic (is that what they're called?) or maybe a humbucker-sized P90 . A horseshoe seems to be even more badass than I'd ever imagine though. Would that fin in there? And while we're at it, replace the neck SC with a Tele-style PU. And I would need to rewire her. No coil tapping and a three-way switch (now there is no option for both PU's at once) would be in order. Now the only problem seems to be getting her.

I don't mind short scales either and, yeah, I almost mentioned that the headstock kinda looks PRSy.

Dynasonics are those old Gretsch/DeArmond pickups. I like the sound of those. I think you'd need to do some major work to get a horseshoe in there. Your best bet is probably a humbucker-sized P-90. You've also got lots of options for a replacement neck pickup.

You might end up spending more money than you want to, but you'd end up with a nastily tricked out guitar. If that thing plays as good as it looks it might be worth it.

This, right? I wonder if there are humbucker-sized Dynasonics. Got to go fishing through the gfs site. I certainly don't feel like doing any routing or complicated shit. But the more I look at these guitars the more I like em. Maybe I should try and find one that's not natural mahogany like the one I have seen on ebay. There is this fireglo finish and also a black one and both are a lot nicer. And then there's solid fender-ish colours too. Thinking about passing this one up and keep these in mind for future purchase.

Hahaha
This is what I thought as well. That font automatically disqualifies it.
