OH YOU

TBH, I've never actually tried EMGs, due to playing bass. But, I did love my ATK which had actives. I just love giving EMG fans a good ribbing from time to time.

Haha yeah! EMG fans take a lot of heat... but the fancy plastic casing of EMG pickups can withstand even the fires of Mount Doom.

I've got EMGs in a Telecaster... it doesn't sound at all like a Telecaster... but it still kicks butt!

Hey, man, I feel that every guitar should either be an offset or a Telecaster in shape. Pickups have to change in order to get different toanz, but really, there's two acceptable shapes.

I completely agree, there can be only two. Acceptable shapes. Like that tv show 8 Is Enough but get rid of 6 of the kids.. 2 is enough.

EMGs get a bad rap because people buy the high gain pups, then crank everything else so they lose like all their charater (irony-ish) but they're really awesome.

also as a bassist, i kinda have to give em props somewhat.

seriously though, i picked up some random ibanez, and played it through a vox and could NOT get a cleat tone out of it. not EMG but still. are METUL dudes REALLY that narrowminded?
,':{I> ... your move, Trebek.

There's a great chart floating around somewhere on the internets about pickup selection.

If you own an ibanez it always leads to swapping them out
Almost all stock ibanez pups suck... Most guys swap in dimarzios

I was a metal moron like that when I was young.. totally clueless running dirt pedals etc into dimed high gain channels, constantly fighting awful noise and shitty tone and not even knowing why. It was the mid 90s though, who could blame me.
