Kentucky Breakfast Stout? Sounds tasty! Is bourbon involved?

I had a new one from a new brewery just one town over, called Foolproof. Had their Robust Porter, which was tasty, and followed with their Golden Ale, which was the wrong order. Whatevs. I dug the porter enough to give 'em both another try.

If you can find it/it isn't discontinued, Harpoon Leviathan's Imperial Red is fucking off the chain. As is Nosferatu from Great Lakes Brewing Co.

Hmmm yeah. Red IPAs are hard to come by. You could try Founders Red's Rye P.A., which I friggin' LOVE. It's not really a "red ale" with an I.P.A., but you'll enjoy it.

Red Rocket by Bear Republic is an excellent choice.

What was the other one I just had that was pretty respectable? Fuuuuuuck I can't remember. Shorts does an "Aorta Ale" that is a red with some hoppiness, but it's a super-rare thing they only do occasionally.

I'mma see if I can remember which one I had recently. It was a red ale with some bite to it... but it was another short-run, so I drank it and then forgot. It might have been a Lagunitas.

I aged one of my bottles for a year and didn't end up liking it as much as just having it fresh. It was supposed to "settle" or whatever but it didn't taste as good as what I remembered.

Damn I only had one beer in my fridge and then I get on THE BEER THREAD(?)---->!!! and WOW do I want some more.

New Belgium's Red Hoptober straddles the line between red, pale, and IPA, and is really delicious. Shame it's just a fall seasonal.

Red Hoptober is delicious! And it is a damn shame it isn't available year round.

And also, +1 for Red Rocket.

As soon as I'm done writing this DAMN PAPER, I think I'm going to have to raid the fridge. All I have is one small bottle of Hennepin and a bunch of big bottles. Might have to crack open a bottle of Rugbrød, it's definitely cold enough outside. Wish I had some Old Rasputin!

Got accidentally drunk on some of Shorts Goodnight Bodacious. Hit a lot harder than I expected. Dark and thick but quite hoppy. I think it's in limited runs though.
