He's in Australia though...

I made the terrible mistake of going to a school that doesn't give scholarships if you get government financial aid.

work is going well, i may have found an apartment for Lulu to run around in, and things are certainly better than when i was running out the last days in Pocatello...but i still am paralyzed by fear, spend my weekends hiding in bed and taking tranquilizers, and still hate myself and don't want to be alive. if it wasn't for Lulu i wouldn't give fuck about anything. i don't play guitar any more, and don't really do much of anything except work and sleep. i just want shit to be over with...the amount of work to get to have anything like a normal life seems insurmountable. but i can't just blow shit off...i'm obligated to the guy who got me this job to try and make it work. working is the only time i'm happy, because i'm occupied and have to pay attention so i can't think about my fear and my broken heart.

People that hate or "don't understand" reverb. Have you no auditory perception of depth?! Does space and atmosphere mean nothing to you?! I can understand not finding an application for it In the music you make but for god sakes you don't like reverb?! Do you not hear my voice bouncing off the walls and in to your ears?! I just has a convo with a friend and he started on me for wanting to spend $500 on a reverb pedal. He saw no practical application and argued that reverb is the most useless effect. Also he had the audacity so say "a $500 effect won't make me a better player" Dude plays only speed trash so I shouldnt be so hard on him but I fucking went off. Then when the conversation cooled off a bit, I mentioned the warped vinyl pedal I paid for a few days ago. This was an hour ago. He's still furiously IMing me mouthing off about how he can do anything a pedal can do I various programs. There's just no convincing this guy. He's my very good friend and taught me a lot about music when I first started but he's losing my respect by the second.

I saw earthless last Friday night at a tiny venue, it destroyedmy hearing until the following Monday. The Shrine were on before them and were so loud with souch brutal top end that they sounded ring modulated.

Yeah I saw them pretty recently too. We missed The Shrine and came in about half way through Earthless' set and fuck it was brutal on the eardrums. Even having missed most of it I could tell bad things were happening. It was the polar opposite experience of Boris, they were moving so much air the floor was giving me a proper foot massage but it was never painful.

Protect your ears. people. I have shredded drums and tinnitus, and if I didn't have the radio or something making a little sound all day, I'd go insane from the humming in my ears.

Re: reverb, $500 is an insane amount to pay for a reverb pedal, but verb of course has its place in a lot of music. But pedge are no reason to fight with friends, dude.

Alright, spoke my mum who's a doctor and apparently it's a fairly common thing with having a cold, something about fluid behind your eardrums or something. Seems to be getting less bad gradually, but I've been told it could last a couple of days. Still, it's a comfort to know it's nothing permanent.
