Re: The spite, hate, rage, apathy and mild irritation thread
[rant]why is it so hard to get my pedalboard sound good today? it sounded like shit this morning, and i've been trying different combinations of pedals ever since.
i guess the sound is in the fingers and today my fingers are crap. i want to be inspired from the sounds, and all that i can make work are a few different dirts (and most of them don't seem to stack well either) and a phaser. i get nothing from reverb, delay, trem or octaves. guh.
it might be the fact that i'm playing through the EHX headphone amp and not through my rig though. fuck. i need to play loud.
my cab is busted, not worth fixing, and i've placed an order on a new one from a builder (cuz i invested this time around). the wait is killing me.[/rant]

Try running your board into a virtual amp simulator like amplitube or this: http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=580
I use that a LOT. It's super simple and (to me) sounds pretty good. I throw the virtual EQ pedal in there and it also adds a lot.
MY rant is about how I met a new girl today...she's super smart and seems pretty cool....but I'm not so sure I'm attracted to her. I hate being in the position of liking to hang out with someone but not wanting to date them, even though they might want to.... ugh.

This confusing combination of liking to be alone and not liking to be around other people.

Ummm, do you mean "liking to be alone and liking to be around other people? Because I'm like that. If so, it just makes both sides more enjoyable. If that's what you meant to write, that is

Yeah, I've had that happen, too. I'm just not physically attracted to this girl. I can only think of one case where someone I wasn't physically attracted to when I met them grew more attractive in my eyes as I got to know them. I actually could probably date that person right now, but she's into a lot of stuff that I would never be caught dead doing (like going to football games, drinking more than I care to). Whatever. I know I have to look out for myself first, but I hate feeling like I'm going to crush someone's emotions.

No, I mean like do I like to be alone because I like to be alone, or do I like to be alone because I don't like to be around other people. It's both. It's neither. Vice versa. Ad Infinitum. Ad Nauseum.

i like to be around other people in theory, but in practice its often a big disappointment and it's a relief to be back on my own again

yeah, i dont think there is ever an answer to that:
sometimes someone likes us more than we like them
sometimes we like them more than they like us
sometimes we both like each other the same
sometimes we dont like each other
and the rest of the time we are not quite sure how much they really like us

My band got booked for a show this week, but then the band we were supposed to open for cancelled. I hate when people cancel things like this.

Gotcha. It's both and neither for me, ha. There are very few people that contribute to my time and aren't really taking anything from it.

Are they in a separate building/house, or are you guys in an apartment building? Either way, it doesn't bode well if they're doing that and they just moved in. Although it may mean that they won't be there long.....

The way our apartment is set up is condos up stairs, and then around back is our apartments with their own doors to the outside. So they're kind of like mini condos. I believe their bedroom is next to ours. And I just hope the lady living with that guy is okay, or can get out. Because he sounded really, really angry.

i had a long, tiring day at work today and can see how i could get desperately sick of this stuff someday. but hopefully not yet.
it's supposed to get down to 8 degrees tomorrow night. i moved away from that shit...it's not fair.

Yeah, we debated calling last night but by time we unfroze from fear it had subsided. On one hand we wanted to call, on the other hand my wife leaves before I do (at 5:45am) and gets home before I do (7:00pm) and I would hate for something to happen if for whatever reason we called and it was found out, you know?
