Get contacted about doing this design and development project for a research lab. Everything seems to be going well, we go over all the details, they're enthusiastic, etc. It's like an $8,000 project. They want it done for $500.

What the hell? Why are people wasting my time, and what exactly is it that they think I do?

So much this. I support myself on freelance gigs, so I'm always looking for more freelance gigs... most of which I inevitably price myself out of by saying "I could do it for X" and then the client says "well I was thinking more about 10% of X."
:grumpy:

The worst, though, is the friends and family who inevitably think "oh, you work from home, you're definitely free to help me out with __________".

They're still around?

Also, good work delivery guy. While I've been home you left the pink slip that my tracking number says you left on Monday.

I like the way my guitar feels. I like the way my guitar sounds (not all the time but usually). But for some reason I'm always so uninspired when I pick it up. Playing other friend's guitars, my acoustic, my bass, shit just flows... I don't understand how I can like it so much and not enjoy it at the same time. I've tried to sell it like three times and have never been able to let myself let it go. Ugh.

I feel this way about all of my possessions from time to time. I like the way it looks and feels, like you said, but a lot of the time I'm not inspired. Which is why I'm doing this:

Keep your guitar then you can layer guitar tracks on top of your bass :thumb:

Today I went on a real date with this girl I had tea with earlier this week. It was awkward. Partly because I had a hangover, though, not a very bad one, but mostly because when I got there it turned out she'd asked me out to an office party :wha?:

So, yeah.... We stayed till it was over, around one in the afternoon. She said we ought to do something tomorrow, but today she had to clean her apartment :?: IIIIIIIIIIIII'mmmmmmmmmm not really sure what'll happen tomorrow.

Whenever I meet someone from an online dating website and they're actually attractive, I'm immensely suspicious. I mean, if you're so good looking what horrible personality flaw has driven you to online dating? I'm just too cowardly to ask a woman out in person, but if I keep finding weirdos online then I might have to find the courage to approach a woman irl.

My roommate's girlfriend tried to kill herself (three times) today at our house. Had to call 911 and everything. Now she's in a hospital's psych ward and won't stop calling us to try and get us to get the doctors to release her.

I really need to get better at relaxing, letting life breath a bit, and not being so obsessive about my hobbies/interests. Too often whatever I am focused on drowns out everything else, including human relationships. It takes the fun out of everything and it's really unfair to the people I care about.

Not good. He was trying to break up with her and this is how she reacted. The doctors took her phone away after she called him, my girlfriend, and myself for hours on end all night last night and it's not looking like they'll be releasing her today. Her parents are on their way up.
