I have managed to arrange it such that the company I work for is contracting me to do my own work through an intermediary without them knowing it's me they're contracting.

My boss doesn't really understand how much or how little time my work takes. So he was going to hire outside the company. I convinced him to go with someone I know.

Not quite. It's by project. So any contracted time I'll essentially be getting paid twice for. But that won't be constant. The trick is to keep feeding him ideas from this end, that he thinks we're too busy to do ourselves.
