Crush that shit

Ask if time spent there for the interview qualifies you for a shift drink.

I wish...
I might have gotten it :idk:
The dude wants me to come back tomorrow night to observe and ask questions and basically be the person I absolutely hate most on the job: the guy watching you work the entire time. Man I'm gonna feel like an asshole.
Seems like it'd be similar to my last line cook job, and I dunno if they do this "tour" thing for everyone or what.

Oh man -- that guy sucks. "You mean you're here, but can't really help me, don't know where anything is, have no side work, and you get to leave early?? FU."

As much fun as I had working in kitchens over the years I really really hope to never have to line cook again.

What's the place all about? Fancy shit?

That seems like something a corporate chain would do to help keep their "standards."

So sorry to hear, bro -- good on you for sucking it up and paying the bills though. I have an interview on Thursday for a real job, but if that doesn't go down options are pretty bare beyond heading back into the kitchen.

I did some kitchen work in the past, too. Definitely know what you bros mean. Kitchens can be super fun, but I'm super happy to never do it again.

Good luck to all bros

I'm caught up on all my bills and I still have a substantial chunk of change in my bank account. Weird. I haven't been this comfortable in a while. TIME TO BLOW IT!

Jk, but I could use some gear repairs.

And my friend coworker made cupcakes.

I got approved for some medical credit, so I get to keep my teeth and hopefully not have to sell gear.

Nice, man. So, so worth it even if it involves selling gear.
It felt amazing to finally get my teeth fixed up last year. I had to cave after a month of near-constant toothaches that made me claw at my skin to distract my mind from the pain. Never had anything hurt that much before. Good times

Also, I just got scheduled to take an assessment at a USPS testing center tomorrow. I dunno if this is a thing they make everyone do after submitting an application or if I passed stage 1, but holy cow I want that job. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but if it means driving to the next city and busting my ass for the $20 an hour versus near-minimum wage and anxiety issues, I"ll take it any day of the week.

2nd day on the job, pure awesomeness. Like-minded people are awesome to be around with. Just soooo much cool stuff to do. My colleagues are super nice dudes and dudettes and it just feels awesome being a respected development engineer. Confidence boost over 9000. They know that I know my stuff, so they have trust in me right from the beginning. Really great projects to work on and a really modern way of working.
Also had my first meeting
I love meetings
