Taking care of those hoppy beers for all you guys who aren't so keen on them. Just need a couple more and I'm all spent.

CASE OF ZOMBIE DUST.

Fuck man. I'm lucky to get a 6-pack on most days.

Really looking forward to my 3Floyd's trip next month. But mostly looking forward to getting my face rocked off by 7 awesome bands. So whatever.

I'll probably try to pickup some random bombers of shit because I won't miss good bands for waiting around in line for beer. I'll do beer line at the end of the night, right after High On Fire has me high on the riff.

Can't go wrong with a Saison and Flanders in the mix.

Just popped a bottle of Berliner Weisse i had been bulk fermenting for the past 2 years.
Light as a feather and sour as hell!
I have named it the "Bubonic Teutonic."
I should have made more.

The haul from my trip this weekend! A few of the bombers I'll be splitting with my friends in a tasting but the Dreadnaught and Permanent Funeral are for my personal stash. And 4x as much Zombie Dust as pictured here. I'll be giving my friend a sixer of it buuuut the rest is mine, all mine.

At the Three Floyds brewpub I had a glass of Dreadnaught, which stands up with the best DIPAs I've had, Heady and Pliny the Elder. Blakkr is hands down the best black IPA I've had, which granted I haven't had tons and tons, but it's a tough style to get right, and Surly, Real, and FFF nailed it.

Went to Revolution's taproom and really, really liked their saison, belgian IPA, and witbier. I surprisingly didn't have an Anti-Hero on my whole trip but looking forward to it.

The city made me feel such a sense of place and comfort. Three Floyds and Revolution felt like such good hangouts for me, the atmosphere and music in both fit me perfectly. My girlfriend and I are going to start investigating jobs and graduate programs in Chicago to move there in the next couple years. So excited.

I can't wait to put on Phantom Limb and crack the Permanent Funeral, though. I've heard such good things.

the body of christ. the body of christ. the body of christ.

seeing Pig Destroyer at DLD last year while drinking Permanent Funeral was a real treat.

Although only a quarter of people at DLD are stoked about metal so I'm not sure how well PD went over but I was front and center having a fucking riot.

Yeah if my friend's going I'll be giving him a crash course in EHG and High on Fire because that's what good friends do.

Dude! So fucking jealous you can get your hands on FFF. Fuck I've been interested in their beers for a looong time, but I never get out of CO, and I don't have friends in Indiana haha.

Did have this last night though:

Pretty tasty stuff!

And if you guys get a hold of Uinta's Hop Notch IPA, GET SOME! Very good representation of the West Coast IPA.

Hop Notch is AWESOME. You're in a really, really great beer region yourself. Tennessee is finally getting around on its beer culture but alas, I have to take a road trip to get a lot of breweries even in directly adjacent states.

If you get on the beeradvocate forums those guys do a lot of regional trading. So something from FFF might be offered in exchange for something that's every day for you. Chicago had an amazing breadth of available breweries.

One of the few things that Indiana has to offer it's residents, is the abundance of Three Floyd's. Just got done polishing off some 2012 & 2013 Behemoth Barleywine which is my personal favorite, the Moloko Milk Stout was also tasty. Dark Lord Day is coming up at the brew pub in Munster and should be somthing anyone in the Chicago/Indiana area should check out for good times.

The one thing is about BA is it removes the friendship factor out of beer trading for me. I'd rather find a dude with close ties to me that lives in Indiana (or something like that) to trade with, rather than a random person on the interwebs.

I haven't had a bad one, but the Game of Thrones take the black stout was rather lacking.

Dd have this as the roommate supplied haul today though:

They went to Vegas, I stayed home with the dog. Bastards were out of the house, I got beer with what they paid me. Win win for me.
