Here's a more accurate picture of "high" protein foods.

I've seen a bunch of those photos that alexa posted, listing all those as high protein foods. They may have a high percentage per volume, but a handful of nuts vs a palm-sized piece of chicken might tell differently. It's also important (especially for more physically active people) to note that you need complete sources of protein, and those are slightly scarcer in the vegetable world. Although a lot of the things listed are good examples, actually: hemp, quinoa, etc...

Now, before we erupt into a debate (and I know you guys are nice, gentlemanly debaters; Iv'e had a few good ones here) let me state that I have nothing against vegan or vegetarianism. In fact , I'd consider it, if I weren't already allergic to dairy and gluten-free. Plus, I avoid soy as much as is reasonably possible. That shit's too hard to digest, etc.... I know tempeh and miso are alright, though.

My bottom line is that when one diet works for one person, for their specific goals, it might not work for someone else with different genetics, a different digestive system and different goals. I do take into account that meat takes an exponentially greater amount of resources to bring to your table then veggies. As a rule, I try to be conscious of how much I'm eating and where I'm getting it from.

inexpensive high tops. I've got a friend who's got 40% off Nikes, so I'll probably go that route.

Although ten year old me is totally ready to splurge on the Reebok Answer IV reissues.

yeah that answer IV is a sweet shoe

I played in Barkleys alot this year but I picked up a pair of Huarache Basketball that are really great

Think we are playing wednesday and I may try the Air Hoop Structure again (they feel really stiff but I have only worn them for one night of ball so they need some break in)

so I am trying to flip over my running schedule, running in the early AM instead of late at night
man it sucks
anyone got any tips
today everything just hurt
my problem has always been flexibility and by the end of the day I feel loose enough to move like less of an old man
AM is needed because I keep almost getting hit by jerks in cars and because it will make more sense as weather gets bad

Stop running, because it sucks.

Stretches depend on what you're trying to stretch. I have really tight hamstrings, so I do a pair of stretches on those at least once a day--in the AM, and before/after the mostly-daily shooting around/low-key park hoops.

I stretched but I don't know that I was awake enough to be running yet
I felt like my legs were tight and my back was loose (if that makes sense)
and running does suck alot: but I also feel like I am doing something positive with my time and it gives me a chance to clear my head.

stretch and warm up before you go?

When I ran cross country the coaches always told us not to stretch until after running. Warming up & dynamic stretching before running could help, though: http://www.runnersworld.com/stretching/dynamic-routine

Totally going to start using this, btw. I'll be there under the same name.
