That is actually my favorite album by them, Raze the Stray for me hits my emotional home. Fucking intense but sorrowful, with a bit of vengeance thrown in. and Cleanse?!?!?!?! MOTHER FUCKING CLEANSE!!!!! Any and all tribal music being infused into metal started and ended there, period.

Empros didn't do much for me. Russian Circles was one of the first 'slow' bands I invested in. I heard a few of their tracks on Youtube and picked up Enter. I then downloaded the rest of their catalogue, but rarely listened to it. I heard a stream of Memorial and bought it on bandcamp. Totally awesome.

Thats what I was wanting to hear. I've never used any of their crashes or hihats but I've been wanting to check some of their stuff out. Might have to give it a go once I get some more cash saved up.

ilovefuzz needs an I love drums thread. A lot of the drum forum sites are pretty slow moving. Where do all of your drummers go for forum fixes?
Yeah, I really like Sabians. The rides are really nice. Zildjan makes good stuff too but they are the same quality as Sabian only more expensive. I haven't found a drum forum (especially one that caters to the doom / stoner guys) that is worth a damn so I just post here for my drum related stuff. There are a few guys in here that play drums as well that will usually chime in. I know I see you post in here from time to time but this place moves fast and I can't keep up with which band you're in. Can I get a reminder?
No problem man. I know this forum isn't the best place for S/D drums, but there aren't many viable options. Maybe I will work on that.
So I play drums in Infinite Flux with John and Tony. I used to post a little on TB doom room.
I am not do patiently waiting to take delivery if my newly ordered Ludwig Classic Maple kit in Bonham sizes minus the 18" floor tom. It should be awesome.

Another band that got me into this kind of music that I don't actually like that much or listen to, is Pelican. It was really eye-opening when I first heard it in 2006/7, but once I began to appreciate other bands within the same genre, I never looked at Pelican again. I'm terribly disloyal!

Yeah they climaxed long ago IMO..... another band from that era I haven't listened to in a long time im gonna have to give another go of is Red Sparrowes... they were awesome live, first non country band I saw use a lap steel.

Yeah, that's another band that I rarely listen to nowadays but was big for me back in 2008. I do listen to Red Sparowes from time to time (I really Every Red Heart Shines), but not nearly as much as Earth, Russian Circles, or Minsk.

I liked What We All Come to Need best of their post-Fire in Our Throats material, but I'll freely admit that they're all sort of interchangeable as "another Pelican album."
