Yeah, I only had to talk to about 4 to get one locked down. I was kind of shocked actually, he was telling me all about how where he is now he wasn't getting gigs because he hits too hard, played too loud or they didn't like that he used a 26" kick.

Truth. An Esquire would actually make more sense for me as well since I never used the neck pickup when I had a tele that one time. Maybe I'll build one. Esquire with a big, fat 70's strat headstock. That's the stuff

celticelk wrote:I was listening to Hex over coffee this morning myself. Never owned a proper Tele myself, but I've got a humbucker-equipped Tele-style Yamaha that I should probably set up for a lower tuning. I wouldn't mind a 7-string Agile Tele-style either, if I could stop wanting other things more.
Solid coffee drinking music.
I've got a tele with humbuggies as well...unfortunately it sounds exactly nothing like a tele.

Ever tried a ASAT? Goddamn
I've always been intrigued by the ASATs with those p90 looking pickups. I'm actually not sure I've even seen a G&L irl

those are all the things I want to hear in a drummer. kick can be adjusted I don't care how large or small. if it was faster I would've said a smaller one is clearer in making out faster beats. But goddamn what was he playing in? foofoo tardkitties and the frumple lumps?

Was texting whiskey earlier about how I felt I'd been neglecting mine for my RedBear lately, plugged it in today and felt like a chump for having done so. Goddamn I love that amplifier. Off tomorrow and gonna run both in stereo and upset my fellow apartment tenants.
Shit, haven't posted in a while, since I got my Yamaha. Opened up the back plate and was surprised with push pull pots for coil tapping, then took the pickups out and it's got a Jazz in the neck and a Distortion in the bridge. Thing fucking slays. Easily one of my favorite guitars I've ever had.

Agreed, I was just kind of laughing when he was telling me all that stuff and complaining about how no one there even plays full stacks. That's when I told him about the Dunwich 300W/415 cab in the works.

Me too! He mentioned something about how there is a surge of ska cover bands. I made a sour milk face.

Here's hoping. We just locked down a solid practice schedule last night. I had to go an hour out of town to actually find people who like the kind of music I'm writing and aren't flakes, so I can't use my free practice space at work. I was able to book a weekly block at an hourly rehearsal space in his area though, which is where I tried him out. Not so bad, it's pretty affordable and having a set practice schedule is pretty high priority for me.

Thats awesome dude! I'm excited for you I know you've been dying to start playing in a band again. An hour away for a decent affordable practice space isn't a bad deal by any means, I lucked out in having an awesome wife who doesn't mind band practice at my house but things could be alot worse for ya.
