Yeah it was more of a way to ask if they were actually woodcuts or just resembled them. Lots of ways to get a look like that, but anyway, yeah they're great! Have fun in art school, man and don't let them bore you! ;)

I see! Haha thank you. :)

I do, I'm addicted to them. They're transformative! But it might make it hard to dig out your pencils again ;)

The digdugDIY sticker wedged in my phone case slides around kinda easily, so I slid it partway in front of the camera and it turned out kinda neato.
It messes with the way it absorbs light or something, I dunno. Like if the shutter got stuck on a normal camera.

Really dislike tablets. Actually for whatever reason... I personally just dislike the entire idea of them cause it just doesn't seem real to me. not trashing on anyone who does. but I personally find when someone uses them I think less of their work.

Just finished 9 smaller 8x10 paintings since I've been out of town. I kinda thought it would take a bit longer to burn them up. Oh well I might go on down to the hobby shop near my hotel and buy another pack of 10 to use on up.

I bought a tablet - a good one, a Wacom A3. I got all excited about being able to draw direct in Photoshop then it arrived and after an hour or two I realised that a pencil and a piece of paper is infinitely better. For me, anyway. I stuck it straight back on Ebay the day after.

Not to derail into a discussion thread here.... but I have a hard time telling most digital artists apart from one another. Especially the digital "paintings." It is cool that with a tablet, you can do certain things more efficiently and cleanly. But there's something cool about a huge pile of paper, canvases, boxes, etc because you can say "ALL that is my work."

I agree 100% with you on all aspects of that. Plus to me working with the actual medium not only connects me more to it but sometimes those happy little discoveries you make while you are doing a piece that you might have not thought out that sorta come together and just enhance the look so much so that in future work you utilize or have another idea/tool in your belt to create the next.

With digital stuff it all seems very smash different buttons to get different effects and you call it done. Sure there is skill in using it but yea I can't tell one from the next and overall I'm never impressed with the result no matter what was created. I'm more like... well that's grand do that in acrylic and oil and then you got something I give a shit about.

tablets are fantastic. real media are also fantastic. they're not necessarily each for the same people. but I use and adore both. I think less of people who can't understand that. ;) :snax:

Doesn't bother me as it shouldn't bother you that I think otherwise.
