He just released 3 a month or two ago for $350 (including a bare metal enclosure that I wanted BAD), they aren't discontinued just extremely limited release. It probably won't sell here for either price to be honest, high dollar pedals haven't been moving at all here lately. To be honest if you can get more than you paid for because its the going price then I wouldn't blame you! Market dictates the price, not just the seller. Post it up over at TGP if you have an account, it will probably get swept up in a heart beat if you ask for the middle of that upper range. At which point theres alot you could do with that cash.

*edit* Also if you post it up for less than the market value (like the $250 you were thinking) you know that who ever buys it is going to buy it just to flip for that profit. Don't feel bad about taking the profit for yourself, cause you'll feel worse when you see it posted for $800 the day after they receive it and realize you sold it to a scammer.

A) What is it?

B) If you're not using it, there's no harm in selling it for more than you paid -- when I'm in the rare situation like that, I'll sell it for what I'd consider 'a deal' in the current market, regardless of how much markup it comes out to be against what I paid.

Flying V Silverburst Custom from china…. hmmmmmmmmm

Man, I've been tempted by these more than once...the only thing holding me back is the money i would have to give tech and all the parts i would have to replace.

If i was handy man like Axx and could do all of it myself, then i would have had one by now.

Some of the Teles that they have on that website look nice. But I know there's just going to be a shit ton of work to do afterwards.

There was a knock off of the baritone Teles that came out in the last few years. Was kinda crushing hard on it but I know that I can probably nab one used if I stick it out.

That's what happened with my first run Meathead. The going rate doubled from what I paid. I sold it for more than I paid, but less than the going rate on ebay and forums. So it moved very fast, I made a profit and I didn't feel like a dickbag. As a side note, I had friend clone it for me before I sold it. I paid him for the parts and took him out for a nice dinner.

I've spent about $500 on parts to get that double to where I want it. Could spend a couple hundred more, I think it's good as it sits now though. So take that into consideration. That's not factoring in bench fees if you have a tech do the work for you.

Pickups, bridge and tuners are probably minimum of what you will need to replace and that's hoping that the routes are correct and bridge is in the right spot. Both of which I have seen off on some of the cheap china stuff.

Report back, would be interested to know how a pickup that strong actually interacts with pedals vs amps.

I bought it before DAM went to the waiting list, when they were still being sold through musictoyz. Paid like $200 or something around there I think, then eventually people were selling them for like $400+ and he had done a bunch of different versions and mine was one of early ones that he actually built, signed on the inside and all that. I liked it, but it was a little too bright. My buddy had gotten way into making pedals and wanted to open it up and take a look. He made a clone for himself and rebuilt it a few different times, while he was still honing his skill. Eventually he bought new parts to start from scratch and get everything exactly correct, so I asked him order enough for two and I'd pay him to make me a copy and just sell mine. His wiring was even nicer than the original, he even went back and modded it for me later, to make it into a darker version. That guy makes fucking pristine tagboard pedals and etched his own really nice PCBs, just for fun. He even got into doing his own paint jobs and decals. I saw him rebuild the same pedal a dozen times until it was perfect, all the wiring clean and orderly like nothing I've seen, color coordinated boards and wires. He already had great soldering skills from working on car stereos for a living back then. Eventually he moved, then got a new job and didn't have time to build anymore, which was a shame. He made me a 808 style tubescreamer, triangle big muff, Si fuzz face and SHO clones that are all amazingly good and I used them for a long time, still do. He also spruced up some pedals for me and fixed a small tube amp I used to have. He made a bunch of really nice vintage and boutique clones for some other people for a while too, which I honestly think were better than the original. The dude could seriously hang if he wanted to get into it for a living, don't think he had it in him to make that leap though, he just liked the challenge of trying to do something to near perfection, especially when he was on a long layoff.

As for the dinner...a gentleman never tells. :surprise:

I thought I was going to have to pay a fair amount of money for the rickenbacker copy bass to have it up to speed - haven't spend a cent on it yet. It's actually perfect!
Now I'm happy to spend time and money on a guitar to have it working right if I love it, but that's the whole thing… will I love this chinese fake crap?
