Cab fried.
Head was left on as they continued to try to make noise through dead cab.
Head no worky now.

I'm hoping there is an internal fuse thats blown.

Set em up with the Verellen and one of our cables and one of our cabs and the show went on. was a rad night, but.
My poor peeby

played one of our best sets to one of the best crowds we've ever had though and the whole night rocked severely so I'm not even mad about it. Just got to get it fixed quick for upcoming show. :yay:

how the fuck did I miss this? There wouldn't have ever been anything that would salvage that night for me. I would've been livid. but I dont' loan gear out anymore, to anyone. Not even friends that I used to play in bands with for 8 years. Sorry, just don't care. the last time I loaned out gear it It was to Phobia and it turned out fine no issues. but I had to bring everything and set it up. as in the bass gear which we didn't use for our band since we were a 3 piece w no bass. the guitar rig used was mine as well. but I set it all up so all they had to do was plug in and that's it. And even then it wasn't my idea to loan the rest of the band talked me into it.

But at least you got it fixed. Still, good god. I'd be angered as fuck I don't care who the fuck it was.

Loaning gear is always a tough subject.

It's incredible how often people don't understand proper impedance and they're using regular instrument cables for speaker cables and doing all sorts of shenanigans.

I know hell the guy I used to jam with where I ended up buying his entire rig for 550... Randall RH100, 412 old peavey cab, 215 fender bassman... yea he had been bitching about how the head sounded and shit so I told him to replace the speaker cabs cause he was using some old ass shit, so he got some new ones. and one day I was moving everything around in my shed so I moved his rig out and while I was moving it back in I saw he was running an instrument cable for the 412. I just waited till practice and I had already plugged his shit up with real speaker cables and I said oh I took a look at your head test it out... and he turns it on and plays and goes damn... it sounds so much better what did you do? and then I threw the fucking instrument cable at his chest and said 'changed the fucking cable to an actual speaker cable instead of an instrument cable you fucking retard' and then he kinda frowned while the singer and bassist laughed at him.

For real, when I do it again, it will be the full rig, like I ended up setting up for them after the initial failure. I still feel worse for their bassist than mad about him mucking up my amp. His amp had beer spilled on it during our set. (wich got pretty rowdy) So he has no working head now, and he fried his cab with my amp. So basically he has no rig now. this was their album release show too. so rad night got turned into a bit of a bummer for him.

I think being asked ahead of time the answer will be no for most people unless it's a band we are close with. but if it's a legit accident that happened at the show, like beer getting spilled into a solid state bass head, I'll let people use one of our rigs. I basically have 3 that I am playing through at every show and the show must go on right? The headliner for the evening had arranged to use his amp ahead of time so literally that would have been the end of the show if we didn't help them out. Opening band had combo amps that sounded fine but were not loud at all. would not have worked with their gear.

Luckily John is a bit of an amp wizard, and was able to breathe life into the Peavey again. Glad it all worked out. That show was just fucking awesome.

It's not tough for me. I'm a straight up dick about it, I do not loan gear out to anybody except to close friends I know personally and under extreme extreme cases where I am in complete control of what ever of mine is getting used. There's no excuses for showing up to a job unprepared, you do that anywhere else and you get fired. As far as an amp going out at the gig because someone spilled beer on it? I'm sorry but you put a beer on my backlined amp and I'll walk straight up on stage during your song and hand it back to you, and nobody gets near my gear when its off stage. You gotta watch after your shit, or it will go missing and or get damaged.

I've let people use my stuff before without incident.

I don't know if I would do it now that I have nicer stuff, though.

It took me a long time to get comfortable with other people playing my gear, and I still only let a few people do it cause I know that they know what they are doing. Other than that, I've never let a stranger play my stuff...

Well, to be fair, this dude isn't a stranger. And he wasn't unprepared at the beginning of the night. Some ignorant assclown spilled beer on his amp.

This is one of those extreme extreme cases, where something happens to a friend the night of. I would do what I could to help somebody out in that situation as well. I'd still lecture him on watching his shit and not letting asshats get close enough to spill a beer on it.

I guess us east coasters look at things differently. :idk:
