No date set yet, but hopefully we will have them recorded soon for a split 12" (depending on if we can get someone else lined up on it) or just release them ourselves on cd until we get the material written and recorded for the b side and then just do a full lenght 12" by ourself.

Very cool. Keep us posted. I will require a copy.

Well, the drummer emailed me to cancel tomorrow. Apparently if he's really honest with himself, he's tired of playing drums and wants to be a guitarist.

Level with me guys...is someone playing a fucking prank on me? Shit is getting ridiculous.

I am sorry to hear that man. That is totally lame. Where do you live that people are so super flaky? If you lived around here, I would sub for you until you found someone solid. If it makes you feel any better, it's better to find out now that someone is lame, than a month or two down the road where you have a lot more invested. I had a few false starts before I found John and Tony. I was just going to fill in till they found someone in Tacoma, as I live about 45 minutes north in Seattle. Well, they still haven't found anyone else yet. I am glad too, because I had started to play drums again for the first time in a several year break a few months before I got together with Flux.

I started jamming with a guitarist what had really cool equipment. ECG guitars, not just one, Orange cab, Plush and Hovercraft heads.. blah, blah, blah. He liked stuff like Electric Wizard, Yob, so on and so forth. We jammed a couple times. It sounded pretty cool, mostly to be playing drums again. He said he wanted to find a bass player. A few practices later he brought over his bass player that he knew from some prior contact. The bass player said he was into DOOM, but more the technical, odd time sig, "mind-blowing" stuff. Ya know? Sort of like death metal. Hrrrrrm....

Anyway, that didn't last too long after that. One or both would flake out on a preset practice and not show. And we had jumped, a little early, on a rehearsal space. Right from the get-go, I was having to be on them about rent and shit I shouldn't have to do as another adult. We discovered we wanted different things and went our own ways. I had heard that Tony was looking for a drummer on TalkBass. I offered, a few times. They cycled through some 30 watt bulbs. Then we got together.

Point is, it took a while, but in the end, it was worth it. Hang in there man.

I appreciate the pep talk. My streak of finding people, hitting it off and then having them bail is reaching comically epic proportions. Something like 4 drummers and 5 guitarists now, I think. Some of them were never going to do it, they were just window shopping the idea of being in a band. The last couple drummers though, just flat out cancelled scheduled jams after being way into the songs, singing my praises, professing how they haven't been able to find anyone into this music and feel like it's a perfect match. I'm starting to seriously consider scrapping the whole thing and figuring writing some stuff around the concept of playing with sequenced drums through a PA or something, just so I can actually DO something. Still have an ad up for a drummer though, so we'll see if I get any more bites.

Corey, that fucking sucks man.
Just chalk it up to demographics. 95% of people (or more) are complete shitbags. Statistically, this was bound to happen.
Keep at it, you'll strike gold eventually.

Luls at the drummer hole.

If I lived just a tad closer to you Corey I'd totally offer my drumming services. Really want to play drums in a band to balance out guitaring full time. Though I've been without a kit since I moved west

Be careful what you wish for, Corey is starting to get desperate. He might just rent a practice space equidistant and chip in on gas money so he can get this project rolling. :p

Let you in on a little secret. After that first jam, we stopped looking. ;)

Corey, that sucks really bad, but don't let it discourage you. Keep looking and you'll find the right person. We had some false starts in my band at first, the worst being we finally got a stable drummer only for him to quit after our first show in favor of being in a punk/ska band. It was lametarded, but we found our current drummer and things are swinging right now.

BTW, played with Holly Hunt here in Orlando last night. They're so incredible. Their new record is supreme. Go check their tour dates and see them if you can!
