Any luck in Dallas yet? And is there a lineup for Austin? My buds lechuguillas in atx are crazy.

Waiting on John at PoF to get back to us for Dallas. It's either Mountain of Smoke or Mothership. American Sharks are direct support in Dallas, but that's their last date with us.

We have one local (Skycrawler) for Austin, but we need another.

Maybe too metal, but my bros' band Sores is tearing up Austin lately.

Lechuguillas is straight noise rock. Real intense. Not metal. Skycrawler is good classic metal.
I was going to suggest mountain of smoke. They're great and sludgy. I have yet to hear mothership. They toured with, or were supposed to tour with, communion from austin. And they're badass.
For some reason parade of flesh rarely hooks up my band with the good shows where we'd fit the bill. But they do put on good shows.

fake, white privilege outrage.

I really think people puff up to feel better about themselves or to quiet some sort of vague guilt that they feel for secretly being a piece of shit.

And it is, but there's more important issues at hand. I will never understand the tradition argument though, tradition is one of humanities dumbest constructs.

These things. Caring and feigning outrage about stupid inconsequential bullshit lets people hide from the fact that they are not really doing anything that makes a difference or helping others. Sure, the stuff people get worked up over (like the Redskins) are sometimes really valid points, but it's usually the wrong thing to get worked up about. It's easy to care about that kind of stuff and post about it on the internet and bitch about it in public, but it requires nothing more than that. Actually changing something or doing some good would take time, effort, work, money, real altruism. It's basically the masturbation of caring - it makes you feel good and requires the least effort possible.

And also this.

Also, as far as sports mascots go-- the Redskins should absolutely change the name of the franchise.

Thirdly -- Sonny's always been cool to me. As has Christian. Not everyone gets along all the time. So it goes. New Sleep Single.

Love me some Kurt Vonnegut :thumb:

it's like this stupid fuckhead that was commenting on a friend's status... the status was about some huge zombie run that is going to take place somewhere.

they come in and literally say 'we as a people can accomplish things like this but we can't house the homeless' like it's his own personal soapbox.

which I asked if he had opened his home up to the homeless, he said he had once before.

I said good, now he can continue to work on that for the rest of us who don't give a shit since we came here to talk about a zombie run.

then hilarity ensued.

dont shoot me...

But, I'm not that keen on the new Sleep track. It's ok, but I think I expected more. The one thing i didn't like was the vocals...its way too in your face, they should pull it back into the mix and bring the riff out more.

...am I still welcome here??? :idk:

I agree with you. I mean I never was the biggest fan of Sleep so that doesn't matter to me But the placement of the vocals in the mix is annoying as fuck and they should be dropped much further back.

Lechuguillas sound dope. I'll forward them to the ATX promoter.

Mountain of Smoke sounded cool to me too. I hope they can make it.

We only met John at PoF through a recommendation from a Chicago promoter, and then je asked us if we wanted to do Spillover back in March. Good times.

What's your band called, terminator?

That's a fallacy of an argument though -- the "well we're not doing anything about X, so we might as well not talk about Y."

But yes, Kurt Vonnegut is phenomenal.

I see where you are coming from, but I'm looking at it from a different angle. I think it's not so much a conscious decision for a lot of people, but an unconscious thing - they feel good about caring about easy things, so there isn't as much motivation to get the same level of reinforcement from more difficult undertakings. The internet gives people a convenient platform to publicize their concern for whatever issue and prove that they are an informed citizen - most of them probably wouldn't be talking about anything or doing anything to solve a particular issue without the internet, so there is a strong possibility little has changed other than how obvious and annoying that segment of society is. But that's all just semantics and bullshit. And it's worth noting that outside of my 9-5 I don't often go out of my way to help others or be particular altruistic, so I'd probably do well to keep my mouth shut :animal:

Yay, Vonnegut!

That's all I have to say.

I already expressed my favorable opinion of the new Sleep track. I think before we all fly off in a flurry of "meh", we should keep in mind that it is a single for adult swim and should be considered in context. And it doesn't sound like total balls. Unlike that new track soundgarden knocked out for that avengers film when they came back online. Horrendous.

Go nick!
Endgame approarches, brother.

Just kidding. Marriage is the same as everyday life before it.
