They've always been some of my favorites. The bubinga models are fucking sweeeeeeet. The B/B I'm getting has the cut and attack of birch witht he low end of bubinga. I might just prefer them to the starclassic maples.

He's definitely up there. But I gotta give credit where credit is do, and as much as i'm not a fan of his overall music Buddy Rich is still the most insane drummer who ever lived.

I don't, actually, I think they're incredibly bleh. Buddy Rich is a machine, as is Max Roach. As far as drummers I actually listen to -- Ginger Baker all day every day.
I gotta watch that ginger baker docu. I've never payed bubinga. Would like to try. Keith moon and Mitch Mitchell are my fav classics. Dave grohl and jimmy chamberlain got me started.

I think everyone on here that likes Sleep more or less dug it.
It's a drum thing.
Got hit up by some of the ex-members of Ol' Scratch and their drummer just left to focus on other projects so they hit me up asking me if I was interested. And I've been a big fan of the current band they have going on so I was like uh duh of course. So now I gotta sell my bass rig to finance a decent drumset.... which is not cheap by any means.....
But I found this tasty little treat I got to try out yesterday and will hopefully be picking up this weekend:
Tama Starclassic Performer B/B (Birch / Bubinga) with a 24x18 kick, 12x7 rack tom and 16x14 floor tom plus a 13x7 maple snare.
The kick drum is a fucking beast, and the toms sound bigger than they actually are.
For classic drummers I love coming up... Ginger Baker and Keith Moon.
Later on I discovered Buddy Rich and Max Roach more so when I started drumming.
I like John and find him quite good, but I followed more so what he said about worry more about making a 4/4 interesting thatn worrying about odder time signatures... I can't remember his exact quote.
Thanks Road Bull!!! I will definitely keep you guys posted!

Really digging that track, by the way, AA. Like, a lot. Does most of the material sound like this?
Thanks dude!!! The older stuff has more of a southern sludge feel to it and less black metal influence. The track I posted is off an upcoming album that is definitely more in the same vein. When I'm not on my phone I'll post up some more vids. The vocalist is the old AA and my current projects (Nanshe) drummer.
