Cool! It's a bit worrying that I can't find any reviews on it from any of the watch forums. Novelty is nice but build quality is important (well at least to me).

Out of all the watches I have had, my favourite is this one. It's beautiful, and really good quality.
I swear this thing is a wing man all on its own. I get complimented on this thing nearly every night I go out. It's really affordable too. It goes for like $150 now. It was $210 when I got it a number of years ago. Even at that I think it was a bargain for how good of a watch it is.

Damn, that's a handsome looking watch! If you haven't already checked it out then go have a look at the Cadence website. Every couple of years when he brings in new designs he has an absolutely crazy sale and all the watches are quality at that price. Probably not worth the regular prices though. They do have Japanese movement, stainless steel case and backs, real leather straps, ect. Pretty minimalist designs but that's how I like them.

What is the appeal for watches for you guys? I never really understood why people got them, even before I got a cell phone. My parents got me a really nice Nike watch once and I wore it for a little but it always seemed like such a chore to remember to put something on that was only good for one thing.
Great business with::: space6oy, SpaceFlunky, iamthesnow, DannDubbleEwe, leaves turn, Jero, Gigahearts_FX, PumpkinPieces, sergiomunoz74

Putting it on just becomes a habit. People always bring up the phone thing, but honestly it's not like it's easier to take your phone out than to just glance at your wrist. More than anything though it's part of a look. In the same way that I think wearing a dress shirt and pants with no belt or suspenders would look "unfinished" I think that a watch adds a certain kind of "finished" look.

Yeah, what jfrey said and the fact that there really aren't a lot of fashion accessories for men. Women get the bags and jewelry ect and if we ditch the watch what do we get? A watch for a man is a way to show a bit of personality and class without being too ostentatious.
Also, there is something awfully romantic about wearing hundreds of years worth of beautiful analogue (mostly) engineering right on your wrist.
I never liked wearing watches either. I really don't care at all if other people enjoy them, but personally I find wearing just about any exccessory just annoying and excessive. another useless item I don't really need to spend money on I also don't really like the sensation of the extra weight on my wrist, not because it's heavy or whatever it's just in the way.

The weight is actually among the nicest things about wearing a watch. At least to me.
Yepp I really enjoy heavy jewelry, but I haven't worn my watch in a while. I got a heavy ring, though. And my girlfriend gave me a second ring yesterday. Not as very heavy, but wearing two rings feels pretty awesome.
