On the subject of practice amp...i went through a big search recently. I needed a small amp that had good headphone option, and wasnt looking for tube.

I tried marshall, orange, peavey, laney, fender...which were all as good as each other, the Laney being the best for the money. Then I tried the Cube...blew them all away. It sounds bigger, better onboard gain and cleans and the effects are not bad either, and with headphones it sounds great too. I got the 40w and although its louder than i need, i got the 6 button footswitch as well, which means i don't need to pull out my pedalboard every time i want to play.

Joe... I actually use earplugs with it, meaning the sound cancelling kind and then put the headphones over them.

I don't do much jamming at my house unless I'm directly writing for something, most of the time I rather do it at my shed with my stuff. Hell my wife hates even hearing the pick clanking across the strings.

My wife is the same.
My kids dig playing with delay parameters though, which is cool. Although my son thinks its hilarious to step on the tuner and cut the signal.

Bless him.

It isn't.

i gotta admit, my wife is pretty accommodating to my guitar playing. But i don't necessarily want to play heavily distorted stuff around my kid (soon to be kidS) so headphones is a must.

Catalinbread confirmed that pedal you guys were interested in is for sabbath fans. It is a rangemaster into a laney circuit. I'm looking forward to hearing it,

I play heavies, but I generally keep the volume low if they're home.
I used to play fast proggy shit to my son when he was a new born. He really liked the Devin Townsend sounding cheese. It gives me hope.

While I don't want to nail Tony's sound (in a context that other people will hear it), I want to nail Tony's sound (in a "playing at home for my own masturbatory enjoyment" context).
So yeah, I'll proooooooooobably be getting that. :animal:
Thanks dazed! :!!!:

For bedroom amps I have a blackheart little giant. It was nice at 5 watts and had a switch to knock it down to 3 watts. I have it torn apart at the moment as I'm wiring it up to make it more like a fender champ which it was already pretty similar to except for running an el84 power tube. It is only around $100 bucks for the head version and then you can pair it with whatever cab you want. I have a big 2x12 that I built but I'm thinking of getting a 1x12 thats a bit more transportable.

Rough cell pic of the Sleep rig from philly. There's one more 810 on the left.
Sound was incredible. Riffs were flying. Heads were banging. An awesome show, without a doubt.

Dude in the bottom corner had some sort of revelation before they even started playing.

What kind of tone do the Randall redface amps have? I know some of you guys mess with them. Someone is selling a preamp model cheap, I was thinking of checking it out.

I really don't need another distortion, but I'll be looking for the Cbread demo on the Sabbra anyway. Those guys give good demo.

Just start alternating them. They go really well together, IMO. I'm definitely hitting Pallbearer's Detroit show, and keeping an eye out for a YOB tour (early 2015?).

I will most likely be buying this.

Castledine Wizard already beat that to the punch

basically a Ge RM into a JFET preamp.

^^^ But the Catalinbread has FOUR knobs! And that graphic! And extra \m/ RIGHT THERE on the circuitboard!

...and also you'll be able to get it cheap in 3-4 months from the TGP guys who'll buy anything made by [BOUTIQUE_PEDALMAKER]....

The Castledine is not cheap I will say, it goes for easily over $200 on the used market.

just saying that its already been done, and done well.
