So this is a thing.

Mastodon and Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers)

Not doom but kinda not bad.

Corey...that Ibanez looks so vintage and cool. Glad its functioning as well as it looks too...good score!

Fallen...that PRS idea would be awesome...just add neck and body binding and I'm there for the silverburst!

T-rey...that video was great, i watched it yesterday. I feel really stupid, cause i didn't even know that southern style was actually a thing...maybe its because i don't live in america and didn't know these bands were all from the same region. I love these kinds of documentaries...its cool to see little sub cultures and scenes and how they develop.

Conky...that sucks about the bass player...makes things really difficult!

I cant wait for this week to go by...really itching to play that superbass...and bring it home! Also thinking once i get it, im going to with a different approach on the pedalboard, try and be a minimalistic as possible and let the amp do most of the work. I will find it difficult but will have to ditch a few pedals off the board and learn to use less!

A few questions:

I have a good phaser and tremolo...can you give me an idea for one more doom/psych
approved modulation pedal? Flanger? Preferably something that works after heavy fuzz.

I have '75 Marshall 4x12 loaded w Eminence Legends...I have 2 Emi Swamp Thangs en route.
Would you put them on the bottom or an X pattern? Or separate 2x12? I do have an open back
cab I could use that currently houses an Emi Governor and Mesa MC-90.

Cheers!

you'll be hard pressed to do that.... those amps love pedals, especially fuzz if you're playing at high volumes.

I've always been mildly intrigued by Bearfoot/BJFE stuff. What variety of fuzz is it?

WTB: Chase Bliss Tonal Recall, Keeley 30ms Delay, cool fuzzes and hand-painted stuff.

I'm thinking of having a pedalboard with just:
tuner, comp, wah, dirt, volume, phaser, delay, reverb

for dirt, i will go with the EQD palisades...fuck me the more i have it the more i love that pedal. Its distortion...and its fuzzy...and has a lot of bottom end.

Christian...that fuzz sounds really good...do you tune down? how does it sound for the heavier stuff??

Yeah, I loved it when I saw it. Haven't had the time to rewatch it yet. I dig that kind of cultural spin on stuff as well. Noisey is doing a documentary focused specifically on New Orleans, which should be pretty rad as well.

I have a jealousy boner for that Superbass already.

Burgs can make damn near anything sound good, but that is one snazzy sounding pedal. Something about the decay is just right.

And I imagine some of you dudes remember Flo from back in the early days of the HCFX doom room. Well, his band is about to release a new album and you can stream it here:

I suggest you all do that immediately. Pretty good shit.

He's still gonna record the album with us that we were supposed to start on today. We are rescheduling for next month. But the good news is that we are touring in Dec with our buds in Crawl. They are gonna hit the road for about a week or so hitting Florida. We're gonna hit up a few of those shows with them so Florida Dudes, let's hang!

We were trying to get them on our ATL show Oct 8, but that didn't end up working out. :(

Also, yes. So much yes to FL hanging.

I'm not sure if we will be able to do the Gainesville date yet or not. We might end up heading home that morning bit we're gonna try to squeeze in one more date. If we can we'll definitely hang.

Cartersville. He got a job at the Kumo place. He said his work schedule was gonna be all kinds of crazy so that will make it hard for him to get down here regularly. He's a rad guitarist too so you should definitely try to hit him up.

I wish an awesome drummer and bass player would move to my neck of the woods. Must love fuzz, noise, beer and weed.
