Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I have nuthin but love for all you guys with great news.
I just got word that my employer is trying to fuck me out of my contract. I'm gonna call Fair Work tomorrow and see where I stand. Not gonna go down without fuckin em back.
We are already in fairly dire financial straits in my house. I was counting on increasing my hours to get us out.
I may or may not have to sell everything I own.
Jesus. The thought of starting over again is fucking terrifying.
Not my black forest....no.
Not my fucking car. Fuck I love my car.
NOT MY FUCKING ICEMAN.
You're gonna have to pull that fucker out of my dead, homeless fucking hands.
Bitches.
Sorry, needed to vent.
Carry on with the awesomeness.
Edit: Just found this on the desk:
At least something cool happened today.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Yeah. My venom and rage are sort of battling with the resolve that the harder I fight, the more I'm likely to get fucked.
I'm just trying to work out a way to keep my leave entitlements and get through next year.
I guess its mostly just demoralising that after nearly seven and a half years you can get shafted simply because you have entitlements owing that they didn't budget for.
Or, more to the point, just don't want to pay.
My growing paranoia is suspicious that my boss may have had some hand of sabotage in my prac. It seems ridiculous but may not actually be too much of a stretch.
I doubt I could ever prove it though.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I don't know the situation, but i wouldn't discount your paranoia...people in power are usually arseholes, and stuff like that is not beyond them.
But dont take it personally, I've been in meetings where redundancies have been decided and the individuals have been thought of nothing but numbers...and recently i was on the receiving side of redundancy...its just a work process...unless its your own business or something that you wholeheartedly live, then its just a job and a system you are a part of for a limited amount of time.
Keep that in mind when you're fighting too...it puts things into perspective.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Believe me, we're a not for profit organisation, we're less than 20 employees and none of our clients are in danger of losing any funding anytime soon, this is personal.
Especially when I took part unpaid parental leave at the start of the year AT THE BOSS' SUGGESTION to do uni under the condition that I would return to my contracted hours at the end of the uni year, which is coming up. We were all in that meeting, it seemed quite fair to me. To turn around and say to me, "oh yeah, we have too many staff to give you your hours back" is a kick in the nuts, as well as being illegal. The staff they hired to fill my position have less experience and qualification than me for one, but more importantly it is ILLEGAL for me not to get my contracted hours back, even if they did hire someone to cover me. Most importantly though, the dickhead they got to take on my hours LEFT a few weeks ago.
I fail to see the problem, but apparently there is one.
On the subject of interference with my prac.: I have a feeling my boss sends her daughters to the school I went to, which means she could have told the teachers I worked with any old bullshit, if that is the case. If I had known that before I started I would have asked to go to another school and uni would have backed me up, as it is a total conflict of interest.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
This is a generalization that won't make this situation any easier, but people in power are often there because they ignored others and didn't care about stepping on anyone to get where they wanted to be. They are no better or worse than the people who avoid paying taxes or burn their houses down to claim on insurance. In both situations they step on others to better themselves. Managers, CEO's, executives, they're praised for their ingenuity and credibility, yet a young Hispanic kid doing ten years for selling dope to get his 3-year old into nursery is shown no credence or sympathy. No one gives a shit, yet I consider him more valuable and worth our time than the shit kickers at the top of the food chain. They are there because they used other people's decencies, sensitivities and insecurities as ladder beams for their own selfish gains.
Mojo sent to you, my friend. I wish you all the best fighting this. Keep your ear to the ground and maybe you won't even need to fight anything.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I hope it works out in your favor and you end up in a better situation Pope, that stinks. We've gone through a lot of terrible boss/work situations, especially to do with legal unpaid leave and vacation times effecting things they legally can't, with my wife and two government jobs she had in a row. It was very emotionally exhausting, so I hope it's not too prolonged for you.

Well pope that's just fucking disgusting. I hope that revenge comes for you in either you winning out in staying where you want, or you get to at least watch your boss die a slow painful death somehow that happened outside of your hands.

Yeah. I really fucking want this to be a thing. Dunwich Nick, Midnight Nick, Skully.... anybody? Make this happen.
I've talked about doing it, and know how to do it, I just haven't actually ordered the parts to put one together

The new 2-knob germanium fuzzes?
What did you think of the OXFUZZ? I'm looking for a Fuzz Face in that size enclosure.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
What kind of current draw are we talking with his GE or GE/SI hybrid? The lack of a DC input jack is a little annoying, but I know germanium fuzzes only like using batteries.
How's Fay treating you? She's stopped slapping you around, I hope.

I would pay a ton of money for that. I really want to run two chains on one board
