I haven't been going to many doom shows anymore. Recently, it seems all the doom shows in NYC sell out. Earth just played 2 nights at St. Vitus this week and both were sold out. Uncle Acid last night was also sold out. I'm just gonna chill until the right show on the right night comes along or until all the hipsters drop doom and move on to their next fad.

Man that sucks. I think most of the bigger shows here sell out night of. Basically don't show up really late. there's so much good local music though, that I mostly just go to those shows unless it's something I HAVE to see. I always feel like a jackass when I buy tickets ahead of time and pay all kinds of extra fee's to digitally complete a transaction that only requires someone to print a list of names out, deduct that from max capacity and let those people in.

Thanks man! Sounds killer. I did actually end up getting the Randall up the other day. I actually really like it, but I think it's too much for my 2x12 cab. It's a stereo amp and I get the sense that it craves at least one 4x12. So it's a keeper, but it's sitting in the basement for now and maybe I'll pick up a 4x12 at some point.

The guy also had a Sunn 2x12 but he doesn't want to sell it...yet. I told him I'd buy right away if he ever decides to sell it.

I also bought a bunch of metal cassettes from him, including Master of Reality :animal: The guy used to own a thrift shop but now he's out of work. I felt bad for him. I was gonna haggle him on the amp a little but once I saw his financial situation I gave him asking price plus another $5 for the cassettes. A good transaction on both ends I think. I was also just glad that it was a craigslist sale that actually went smoothly for once.

Yeah man. I was all about the buying tickets at the door, to avoid fees and also the possibility that I might not end up making it all the way to Brooklyn that night and being out the money for the ticket. I had no problem for a long time but then doom just starting selling out left and right and without and advance purchase ticket you're out of luck. Oh well, I'm saving a bunch of money on tickets and beer at least

Glad that you purchased it. I do actually like it, it's far better than the RH100 cause even when I have recorded it sounded like shit. maybe it was the cab or the way the guy was using it but I didn't care much for it. the RH200 though I've used to record some doomy crust blackened hardcore stuff that my friend has spent a year doing vocals for. and I can't remember but I think I used it to record the single for this other black metal band I did.

First workbench project today! Stained the body and headstock of the DeArmond S67 I'm refinishing. So far so good. I'll be out of town for a good chunk of next week, so it should definitely have enough time to dry before I start with the Formby's. Then new pickups and bridge, and hoping I don't fumble the assembly. *fingers crossed*

Also: got a line on a possible new addition to the Island of Misfit 7s - more info if I score it or it gets away.

I just got a copy of High On Fire - The Art Of Self Defense on vinyl, was listening to disc one today. The record is HEAVY, like the music is heavy but also the album is literally heavy. It's got two discs of that super thick black vinyl that barely fits in the sleeve plus a 24 page photo album in the gatefold. The whole thing feels like it weighs 4 lbs.

Also: Blood From Zion, 10,000 Years and Master Of Fists demo versions. That was their demo. Has there ever been a better demo? Jesus Christ.

The first HoF I ever heard was blood from Zion. It's like the heaviest shit ever.

Also, I watched all of wastelander panda last night. If you can get ABC iview unlocked in your region, DO IT.

Who here lives in Scotland?

There's a Matamp 4 channel bass head for sale in Kilwinning for 75 pounds.

Go get it and sell it to another doom roomer if you don't need it.
