Hey Skip...that agile looks good...why didn't they do block inlays...that just kills it for me. But also, i think 8 string guitar should be bigger...the neck size and body size become way out of proportion.

The meshuggah one is ok...i dont like the bridge but it seems very functional. Also Mashuggah as a band is ok...i dont that is a banable offence...that tosin guy however...thats banable.

I think Dino has a sig model not sure if its seven or eight string though

I don't think that Ibanez looks THAT bad Skip. At least it doesn't have MASHUGGAH logos all over it

And I actually dig Abasi too. Not really the style of music that I listen to, but that dude knows some serious stuff about theory and scales, which is just glorified through his use of extended string guitars

Yeah yeah...great guitarist...but watching him is like watching a heart surgeon...which is fine. But in my older years I've stopped liking intricate shit...there was a time that i was into fine dining...now a days i like simple food thats slapped on a plate but tastes amazing.

Hahahha I feel you man. I think I've just come to accept that my fingers will never move that fast and like to see other people work guitar necks like a stripper pole when I'm bored. He's just one that keeps my attention more than most generic shredders

My fingers will never move that fast either so I focus on other things. But I still wish they would, as a teacher and as once a fan of the music.

I like the idea of remembering my history and 'heritage', so to speak.

I used to want to be a shredder and loved all that crazy sweeping arpeggio stuff. I still like it from time to time but now I mostly like the doom and I'm thankful I'm able to even play pentatonic scales on guitar.

When I was buying my first guitar, I had the option of a Dean Dimebag, or a Dean Vendetta. I'm kind of glad I didn't go the shredder route

I really dig the Meshuggah sig guitars but I don't need more strings, just a lower tuning. Also Meshuggah were rad as fuck live, deafeningly loud and a light show that in sync with their music, they put on a great show.

I too wanted to be a fucking tech-death shredder but then realized the music usually ends up boring and I'm way too lazy to get that good at guitar.

Y'all seen the fingers on the guitarists of Portal? They look almost as long as Slash's fingers

I saw them live at a festival...wasn't expecting anything as i am not a fan and there was nothing else on at the same time...so long story short, i watched their set...and i really dug it...some the riffs were really good and the overall energy was great.

I agree it needs block inlays and should be bigger... but they just order mods to an existing platform.

The bridge is something I like, the feel of a floyd rose but without all the headache, and the locking at both ends helps keep it in tune. I'm not against either band, I stopped paying attention to Meshuggah after Chaosphere I just think its hilarious they helped establish a genre established on a certain exact sound. Tosin is a badass though, I met him when he played in Reflux and he was the first person I saw use a looper live to its fullest extent.

Dino's sig is a 7 string, I wanna build an ibby 7321 modeled after a bunch of his customs. Dino is a beast as well, I've loved Fear Factory for a long long time.

Yeah I kinda dig it, and its big enough over all to not look like a toy on me haha. and TRUTH.

Agreed, Tosin is a beast when it comes to theory and ability.

I concur, I've gotten bored with over technicality as it loses emotion. I call it musical masturbation, cause your only doing it to get yourself off. I want some good ol' home cookin done right. Cooked slow, served hot, and full of flavor.

Nothing, I was just afraid of back lash for wanting the ultimate "djent" guitar haha

I would love to learn how to shred solo, well hell learn to solo at all but after the hand surgery when i was 18 I'm only at 80% mobility. I will never physically be able to do it.

I'm with ya man. I just use delay and reverb to hide the fact that I can play solos at like 1 note per second.

This too. Meshuggah is awesome, and that guitar is sexy as fuck, but I barely know what to do with 6 strings, let alone 8. Gimme dat drop F tuning and a massive wall of fuzz anytime though. :!!!:

Nothing when it looks as fine as that M80M. Usually it's when they're covered in logos and signatures that I'm put off by it.
