Have to agree. Ampeg Vh's are some of the best shits. the SS's are absolutely wonderful too. that's why I have 8 of the two together. never wanted to be lacking one if one ever got blown up or stolen.

Well, I've been away a while. I've got that Fuzzpotion on Craigslist due to lack of mids. Some days I love it, some days I hate the shit outta it. Oh well.

Past couple days have been wonderful gear-wise. Did a bunch of pickup swapping and a couple setups for my boi yesterday and was paid a super cool modded DS-1 and an old Fender 215 with the OG Jensens.
And then this yesterday...

There literally aren't words to describe how much I want that atrocity.

The FZ2 is kinda like that

Oh man I love/hate that thing! I don't know what I'll ever use it for but I leave it at our drummer's fancy studio just in case. It does exactly that total obliteration thing that's cool on paper and cool when Electric Wizard did it but man I just feel incompetent trying to make that thing sound how I'd want.

Superfuzzs always had a mid cut to them and I never like it. I played a SS/BS modded Supefuzz circuit and it was bleh. Nothing against Brian at SS/BS I just never liked a Superfuzz.

So scooped it's almost hollow or something. Not my bag man!

Superfuzzes done right sound amazing on bass, never found one I gelled with on guitar though. It sounds brutal but has no clarity or like Darren said Dynamic. It's just full on all the time.

Mental note: Make Oni try the Super on bass tomorrow.

you guys are getting soft. superfuzz is king. if we were talking about the Companion which i also use i'd give you a break, but the Superfuzz? man, that's just a brilliant sound. i prefer the Companion on bass, but that obe is definitely not for everyone. i do like them fuzzy and trashy though. most modern fuzzes don't speak to me that much.

I like to consider anything with silicon transistors modern. That's just silly semantics though.

I finished a Mosrite Fuzzrite clone for a buddy today. Fun little build and a cool vintagey sound.
