If you are feeling sluggish then maybe an SNRI would be a better option. Also, from personal experience and from the experience of many in my family exercise in general makes a massive difference day to day in your mood.

Also in regards to coenzyme Q10 it is my understanding that depression and Glucocorticoid stress causes the mitochondrial dysfunction that decreases COQ10 in the body in the first place so while changing anti-depressants could probably help going cold turkey probably isn't a good idea (for more than a couple of reasons obviously) in that regard. It should be obvious but if you are going down the supplement route don't buy some homeopathic shit, read the bottle or you will just be buying a sugar pill. That being said it's not entirely understood what the long term effects of different anti-depressants are on the brain but I mean it is a case of taking the shit to stop us wanting to off ourselves today so we can live until tomorrow, so maybe looking to the future like that is kind of a moot point.

Anyway man, hope you find your answer.

What Twangasaurus and gunslinger burrito said about exercise is a good idea. Find a local boxing gym. One of the best cardio workouts ever and the confidence you gain is awesome. And sparring with someone is very therapeutic. Whether your hitting someone or being hit yourself. Like a legal fight club. Oops I wasn't supposed to talk about it..

I'd probably be shit at boxing but I'm intrigued. I've heard of how good of a work out it is and I'd definitely rather be participating in some kind of sport rather than just running or biking. I'll look in to boxing for sure, that'd be fun to start to learn.

Oh and just for clarification I've been off of Wellbutrin since March, I gradually weaned myself off to save money and I was feeling better. It was 80 fucking dollars a month with insurance (and this is the generic stuff) so right now my main thing is to find a cheaper option if I go down that route. I'll bring these suggestions to my doctor because honestly I haven't been impressed by him. Really just going so I can get a referral to a good therapist/psychiatrist.

Doesn't matter if you are shit at it. As long as you have fun and get those endorphins pumping. And they train you so you get better. No one says you have to go in the ring. But it's better if you do. Give it a try. I know you will get something positive from it. Trust me.
Above all just be a better friend to yourself. :thumb:

I second the notion of avoiding homeopathy. I work in the "natural foods" industry and I hate that we sell and promote homeopathics and other pseudo-scientific crap. It makes it hard to promote the things that actually can make a difference. I'm glad that someone else here seems to know the mechanics of this stuff better than me.

Yeah, I can't imagine spending that sort of dosh and only being able to choose the shit that is under your insurance. I pay $35(AU) a month for whatever dosage of whatever drug works the best for me and I could probably knock that down a bit if I applied for certain government concessions since I'm a student. I could run my mouth forever about drug options but it's not going to do you any good if you can't afford it.

Depending on the cost you might be better off going for therapy instead of the drugs if you can only afford one or the other and focusing on lifestyle changes. EDIT: I say that because lessons learnt from therapy can be applied forever where-as drugs are only ever going to be a bandaid. Just speaking for a pure investment point of view.

Gyauh.
Just spent six hours picking up my dad from the airport so we could get my mom who's car broke down on the way to pick him up, then driving them all the way back home (hour+ each way) and finally coming back to my place. And my car is leaking oil, even though I just had an oil change last week. time to pay a visit to the mechanics early tomorrow morning before work....... sigh. Being an adult is a pain in the ass sometimes.

I guess I got really drunk on Monday and paid one of my bills in full and didn't remember it.

Is like to have paid half now and half by the end of month so I still have money for the next week but oh well, at least thats one less thing to worry about

And now only the "cents" part ofthe check I deposited went through before the weekend. Being broke is always a bummer. Especially when a friends band is playing at a bar tonight.

I was hanging out with some friends earlier when one of them put on this video:

He wanted to demonstrate a pickup artist technique called "bedroom eyes." This made me horribly uncomfortable. I think that pua stuff is horribly manipulative and sexist. His argument was that it's just signaling, and women can do what they want. We argued this for a looooooong time and I can't stop thinking about it.
